Yea my problem is on a much smaller scale also, I would prob go with what your doing as well. Small update, all the mites are gone for now, but I think I should have rinsed all the garlic off as it appears to have damages the hairs on the whole plant as well as some leaves. I rinsed it down really well today and I did notice I didnt smell any garlic, only smelled the bud, even putting my nose up to the buds, no garlic smell....not sure if that means no garlic taste. At this point we will have to see if the garlic spray was worth is, looks like it burned some of the leaves and turned alot of hairs red/brown. Here are some pics. Im outdoors at 42 degree N lat so I feel like they should be a bit more developed at this point outside, but you can see the surles tips morning after garlic, purpling around edges of leaves, also seemed to highlight the might damage and make it more noticeable. On positive note, cant find any mites anywhere, so if i ever do use garlic again it will be rinsed off a few mins after applying it. In your case with big plans, thick colas, you prob cant rinse them, and if you do, you risk mold like u said.
