Thrips in run-off water

1) PICTURE OF PLANT *** VERY IMPORTANT ***
I'll post a picture of the plant, plus a picture of the pest
2) Growing indoor or outdoors
Indoors - inside of a grow cabinet
3) Watering schedule
I was previously using about 1 gallon of water every 2-3 days, but was getting too much run-off (about 1/2 of a gallon). I just switched to half gallon of water, and only get a few ounces of run-off. I'll most likely water every other day. I only water when the moisture meter is at or below a reading of 2 (out of 10) and the container feels light when lifted. This seems a bit low, but the leaves don't droop, so...
4) Growing Medium
Miracle-Gro Moisture Control Potting Mix - with no additives. Soil is still at a ph of 7.
5) What stage of growth
In the beginning of the 3rd week of flower

I used some spinosad on the plant, which seems to have eliminated them from the foliage, etc. I do, however still have them in the run-off water, so that must mean they are hanging out in the soil still. A light spray of spinosad to the top of the soil hasn't worked. Would a normal dose of spinosad used as a soil drench work, or should I double up on the strength? I'm currently trying nematodes, but I'm not seeing any progress, and am not sure how long I should expect them to take at reducing the thrip larvae to un-noticeable levels. I'm also not sure if the spinosad kills nematodes... The leaves are still thrip-free, and my plant doesn't seem to be struggling any as far as I can tell.

Attached is a microscopic picture of the pest that I scooped out of the run-off water. They are extremely tiny and have a white appearance when they are floating at the top of the water. That IS a thrip, right?

Yeah, I do hope they won't become a common occurrence. I'm still a noob, so I'm learning how to be more proactive about these kinds of things. I've heard that spinosad water is almost as good as holy water. I guess I'll find out soon... ;)
