Soil Nutes used in Coco

Folks, can I use nutes for a soil grow in Coco ? I normally use Coco specific notes but these soil ones came for free (Dutch pro grow A/B & Bloom A/B) so I don't want to waste them. I think that soil nutes are released more slowly as they build up more in the soil as opposed to coco, which doesn't tend to maintain a nute residue.

Are the ingredients in soil nutes similar enough to be able to use in coco. Obviously will check PH etc but wondered if anyone out there knew if they it is ok to use soil nutes in Coco.

Thanks in advance.

Yes you can use soil nutes in coco. You are going to want to add a calmag type product to your nute solution. Thats the only real difference that I can see in my 2 part coco tek nutes from General Hydroponics. I assume most coco nutes are like that, they add extra calmag into the product so you dont run into a problem. So yes use what you got and get a bottle of calmag or something like it and your good to go. Good Luck Dude!

The difference between soil nutes and hydro nutes is calcium nitrate. If it's actaully a soil nutrient, it will use urea instead of calcium nitrate.

It doesn't make sense to use urea based nutrients in coco unless the coco is fortified with limestone or bone meal and treated as a potting mix. It doesn't make sense to add calcium nitrate on top of urea...

Stop wasting your money on cal-mag+ supplements... Hydroponic formulas provide all the calcium and nitrate you need.
