So with my current grow I have 5 plants but I didn't do all feminized seeds this time..they are regular. I am about ready for flower now but I am trying to avoid clipping any clones from a plant that could possibly be male. Would it be possible for me to flip to 12/12 then cut clones as soon as I know the sex for sure? Or should I just bite the bullet and take a few clippings from each plant and pray they aren't male ?

I Flip to 12/12 to verify females than depending on age and size I flower or flip back to 18/6 for further growth.
IMHO taking clones before knowing the sex is more for a grower/ Breeder.
I don't Breed or I have not yet in my short 3 years of gardening.

No you can switch them to flower. You can take clones imo no more than 2-3 weeks into flower.

definitely take the clones before you change the photo period... you don't want to stress the cuttings, especially considering you're wanting to have them root...
what you need to do is:
1. take cuttings (2-3) from each of your plants and label them to keep track of where they came from
2. dip them in cloning solution and use whatever propagation medium you're most comfortable with
3. keep those clones under 24 hour photo period
4. change the original plants photo period to 12/12
5. wait to see the sex of the plants
6. throw out any of the plants that turn out to be male
as far as your concern of the male plants causing any problem with the female plants:
the male plants will have to produce pollen sacks and then release them into the air to pollinate the female plants in order for them to do any harm, this will take weeks after you notice the pollen sacks that signify the plants sex as male... so there's nothing to worry about there.
ALSO: if you only have one light, simply remove the plants from the light room and make sealed room, maybe a closet or something... and then put them back in after 12 hours... then repeat.
it may sound like a lot of work, but if you follow these simple steps, you will never have to do it again, and a healthy mother plant can live for up to 8-12 years... so it's worth it.. just make sure to never prune more than 50 percent of any plant at any stage of it's life period...

take clones any time u want best in veg but if u had to u can clone all the way up to 8 weeks even later just takes alot longer to clone and take from the lower stems

You can also clone late in bloom to save that special plant. It takes longer to get it back to veg.

kind of misleading advice... yes, you can take them whenever you'd like... but taking them during the flowering photo period is never going to make a great mother plant/clone...
you want to avoid as much stress as possible on the cuttings, having to revert them back to vegetative lighting period in order for them to root would more than double the time...
but yes, vegetative state can be held for several years if you want ( a mother plant can be kept vegging for up to 12 years or so)... and eventually the sex of the plant will start to show even if the plant is still in the vegetative photo period (24hrs).
