Don't worry @rob333 if you were to try to emulate your 600 hps coverage with these lights you would be spending between 2-4 thousand dollars than waiting half a year for delivery. Move on nothing to see here.

Hey brother I think 2-4 thouie is a stretch. Even if you leave them at full retail ($174), you can replace a 600w hps for just at a thousand. With the discount he offers it'd only cost $818. You could even add a unit and go overkill compared to a 600 hps and it's still not a thousand bucks. As far as waiting goes there's an easy solution...don't wait. Buy something else.

Those are the units containing vero's and not cree chips. When offered the cree units will be substantially more and for us that love cree and their LED's that's not an acceptable price.

That's maybe true and understandable but area 51 offers a product that you don't have to buy. I just don't see the reason for dogging the company. It's like being mad that McDonald's makes profit off a burger that you think is over priced. You'd probably just cook one at home instead...maybe you should consider that in this case as well.

Nothing just prefer the cree's, they run cooler and have better output per watt and in my opinion if you are going to use LEDs you should get the best on the market at the time because like microprocessors LED's evolve very rapidly.

This whole conversation here lately is ridiculous. I remember Eraserhead mentioning a Cree upgrade and even possibly an RW Spectrum "keep alive" option.
Obviously this first release is the most economical version that will be offered
I am not even an A51 user yet and I can remember all of that.
