Hah. Neat-0. I got a soft spot for those kind of grows.

Could be a bit cleaner and neater from a construction standpoint, but ya got the results. These LED's grows are progressing nicely.. I'm getting closer to getting convinced to use them.

I'm working on a monster 5 kW LED project, the aim of which is to determine whether COB tech is ready for prime time.

Yeah Im interested, its kinda spendy on power around here. These micro applications at least show LED is workable but you have to be close to the canopy... Kinda why I still like HID, you can light more plants with less lights.

Now, i'm sure that in the long run LED with alternative technologies like the Tesla battery and say a few wind generators, LED could be a better choice for a long term operation.

Not to get off topic, but what is the lifespan of a COB at say.. 80% of the initial lumens/par.. ?

What's even more fun is that you can choose the efficiency level of your COB setup, trading up front cost for efficiency. If you're okay with spending more, you can get over 60% efficiency! Or save money, run a bit warmer and settle for 'only' upper forties...

Got to borrow a killawatt from work, panel at 4 hours of operation is 44.4 watts! The mini fridge clocks in between 46 and 48 watts depending on how many fans are on. I'll need more circulation when I add more plants for the party cups that are going in here! I also have to stuff an auto or two in there. Its gonna get crowded if I can't get space under my Ion-8 panel.
More pictures to prove that 50 watts of OUTDATED COB can grow better than 80 watts of T5HO, a 90 watt UFO, or 200+ watts of cfl. (Individually of course!)
These are from this afternoon, about 10 days since the last pictures:

Looks sexy in there! I pulled my 2 party cups out to show how much space that one MK Ultra wants to take up. I think That I'll have room to finish a couple more before the party cup is over (@Socalrob January?). I'm really hoping for an ounce off this one gal, it'd be nice to know that I don't need much more than 50 watts to get the job done! She's got another 2-3 weeks to finish frosting out and fattening up. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

We should finish throughout November, that MK looks nice and frosty. Very nice.
