When Should I Harvest?

I've been around to read the forums for awhile, but this is my first grow. I appreciate your help in advance...

I planted my white widow seeds on 6/1, so that means my plants are about 15 weeks old. It's still pretty warm here (zone 6), but I've flowered for awhile. I'm just not sure when I should harvest, and I'd appreciate your advice.

I thought I was ready to harvest, but I also expected a white coating on the buds like I've seen in pictures for white widow, yet I don't have that.

Also, is there any harm in waiting longer? I've probably got another month of frost free nights, but I don't want to wait too long if I could cause more harm than good.

I don't know, but I'd say at least 3 weeks and probably a month. It rained a lot back in July, so I never really went out to check on it and water it.

Today I went out and took another picture with my good camera, so here it is... Let me know what you think.

welcome to RIU. your girls are looking nice and as @mr sunshine said, you've got about two or three more weeks left; don't harvest early, this is when your girls will put on their weight. you'll know they are done when they look like nugs in a bag you would buy OR you could post up in this thread and someone here will advise. congratulations on your first grow.

Yeah they look nice if at all possible though get you a magnifier to check your girls out .....it's the most important time of a grow IMO don't cut yourself short by taking girls that aren't at there full potential it could be the difference between good weed and awesome weed so if you can get a cheap loop within the next two weeks so you can get a handle on harvesting at the right time my friend .....so many people take all the time to grow beautiful plants just to guess at the most important phase .....

If you can get them to around Oct 20-25 you should be golden, but better to harvest early if temps get too low and / or cool damp conditions, just take them as far as you can.

Thanks for all the advice, guys. I'll be getting a loupe or some other magnifier now, so that I'm ready in a few weeks. It looks like the first frost is 10/13, but hopefully this year it will be a little later and I can get an extra week or two out there.

@hellmutt bones I'll be pretty impressed if I get a pound. That would be about 2 years worth of weed for me, probably more. Unlike when I lived in Colorado, I can't even share with friends where I'm at now...
