lollipopping/pruning flowering plants....

hey what up wondering if any experienced growers could kick some knowledge on lollipopping a plant that is already in flower.... im about 13 days in to 12/12 just really got into popping pistils on every branch no buds yet. i want to maximize my top colas since im growing cfl and penetration sucks... did i wait to long? last thing i want to do is stress them out.

if lollipopping is not an option could i atleast prune sum of the top fan leaves to help the light get in... im gonna go read alot on this topic now but any good information is appreciated

Tuck before you pluck, lowest fans first, necrotic fans go.

Prune don't defoliate..

You can prune sucker branches 20 day's in. After the stretch.

Soooo..if u know ur strain is hardy prune bottom at y axis single leafs only..take a fair amount of foilage but dont get crazy..stress from pruning is hard to do inless ur choppin crazy..some strains touchy then others..gl

I'd recommend doing it I mean with CFL's chances are the torture those bottom buds are going to get from starvation is going to be worst than the little stress they will get from a chop, Just be careful how you cut it, I've read that cutting with a razor blade close to the stem as possible prevents it from trying to grow back and minimizes the damage from cutting

i was gonna remove complete bottom third of branches about halfway up the plant then cut sum of the single leaves from the top//. ur saying leave all the colas ( even tho the bottom colas are just fluffy strandy junk ? i want to pick up sum serious weight on the tops....i know cfl isnt ideal lighting for this but its what i got for now. after harvest ill pick up a hps

You should prune and lillipop no stress to the plant till 3 weeks in.
Dont forget to take some cuts for cloning!

not cloning this round, i got enough going right now and enuff seeds for 2 more cycles with limited room cloning isnt a priority.... gonna have to take a break for a couple months after i harvest my youngest...

Don't cut the top fan leafs tho you're going to need those to pack on the fatter buds at the top, if you're trying to lollipop, you just cut whatever growth, fan or branch that is underneath your desired area \\

ok so did i take to much or to little off... i didnt trim/prune any of the leaves above where i lollipopped just the bottoms that wasnt getting light and was smaller growth these are all after pics

Just my opinion, you seem to be experiencing thin stems, this is why you should top at the second internode, it stunts growth but after a week it seriously thickens the stalk. You should also top again just before you flip so that it thickens the branches. You're still looking good but you might have to suspend some of the buds when she gets heavy.
