I recently read a post stating that an organic farmer was experiencing high Alpha-pinene content in his Xj-13 grow. I thought this was normal him being an organic farmer and XJ having piney undertones maybe the two together just enhanced terpene content. His post stated him and his friends smoked some and described it being too chemical tasting. He also stated a strong pine-sol smell during growth. He asked if anyone knew the reason for this and if anyone could help em' with the smell/taste. My first thought was certain nutes + genetics enhanced his penene terps ; 2nd was maybe it was just too dank fer the guy. I really dont know.
Point is his question inspired me with some more thought provoking material.
Would spraying or adding organic linalool extract\oil help his crop combat the natural pinenes?
Is it possible for stomata\roots to intake such foreign terpene exracts?
I read that terpenes are just as important if not more important then thc, being that all cannabis has thc but not all cannabis have the same terpenes. Also read that certain terps do certain things.
For example:
Alpha-penen: Inhibits enzyme activity in the brain associated with aiding short-term memory.
Linalool: Analgesic, sedative & anesthic effects.
With this said if these terpene molecules can be accepted by stomata\roots would they be delivered and produced by the flower itself?
If so would these now "Foreign Terpenes" have the same effect as natural grown terpenes?
I dont like the word impossible but are the molecules even smalll enough to be accepted by the crop, if not how can we break them down so they fit?
If intake is not possible could adding the exract to your foliar spray help attach itself 2 your buds before harvest.
If all terps in cannibis can be found in foriegn herbs, crops, & flowers would it be safe 2 say that we can then take these "Foreign" grown terps & add them to our buds to enhance\control aroma & at the same stimulate medicinal effects?
