Greetings rollitup community, I have been studying for years before my first attempt and I want to get this rite the first time. That being said I'll jump rite in.
I have a budget of $17,000 and want to start with hydro to cut down on veg/flower time. (I understand the taste difference but I need to become self sustainable in the shortest amount of time)
I'm going to get 10 1000w HID's two will be converted to HPS just for flowering and I'm going to cycle 4 stations (2 lights a table) for veg. If I time this rite I can have a continual harvest.
Other equipment I'm going to get includes AC, water cooler, carbon air filters, co2 tanks, pumps, bluelabs guardian monitor, ext ext.
I will be renting that always sucks but there are a few things I'm not sure about including what hydro setup, nutrients, whether to mainline or trim, and safety. I have not found a house yet I'm moving mid November.

Any thoughts hit me up I'm open to critique.

I apologize for spelling and punctuation math is my shit.

I haven't added the cost of an electrician ether so if anybody has a rough estimate please post it.

Thank you for your time and help
peace love and crabs.........

Walk before you run or you will just waste money. Get yourself good at growing before you drop that kind of cash. I don't think you realize how much work 72 plants would be, or how much time you will be spending taking care of them. I think if you try to grow 10 your first time out, you will have a much better idea as to what you are getting into. Other than that, PM me and I can help with the setup.

Good luck. You have a lot of unknowns to be diving in head first. Keep reading grow journals, and comparing equiptment used, and techniques etc. Thats alot o$ to gamble with. Not trying to steer you away, just know wat yr gettingin to. 72 plants is alot to chew man. I get my hands full with 2!!!

I know this is going to be a big undertaking there are unknowns but I do have 2 other people helping me. If this fails I will still have the equipment... I know I sound arrogant and headstrong but my mind is made up. I'll post my progress and have pictures. I have been on the fence about hydro it would be safer just to get some fox farms and automate watering but I'm just concerned about the bugs.

With what you are saying here it is painfully obvious to me that you have not done as much reading as you need to. If you are in such a hurry to throw money away, I know 100 other things you could do with tit that would actually return. Good luck. You are gonna need it.

Spend the money now. Learn as you grow. You only live once they say. Its an over whelming job but who gives a fuck!!!!! Once you get your system dialed in its like breathing. Make sure it stays enjoyable, and make sure you run an OG!!!!!

Sorry bro, with 72 plants, the only thing he is gonna learn is how to lose money on a massive scale (in just the power bill alone). Trying to grow a dozen or less would run him ragged and he still would be struggling to learn anything. It takes years to get things dialed. Setting up a perpetual is hard work. Just getting the timing down so there are no lulls and all the while, you will have the normal issues that arise in any grow (especially for a newbie) is gonna be a full time job.

The bottom line is this: growing is a lot or work. It is not an easy job and requires you to be there every day. It is rewarding for sure, but if you think you can just set it and forget it, you will have a very rude awakening.

Yo man, im not trying to be an asshole or anything, but that is a terrible idea. You def need to learn in soil before even attempting a hydro setup. Second, there is a lot of knowledge on this site, but none more solid then personal knowledge of your strain, your techniques, exc. Im not saying dont do what u want, bc this is the internet and ur gonna do w/e the hell u want anyway, im just saying im an experienced grower and it took me 5 years to maintain a medicinal quality perpetual grow. That being said im interested in this

the research I've been doing puts a 1000w light at around 30 bucks a month.... Am I mistaken?
You are not mistaken, but you are not factoring in everything else. Fans, controllers, co2 genny, ozone genny, pumps, etc. I don;t think you are seeing the big picture of your actual costs. All of this before you have purchased a pot, light hanger, stake, or medium. It adds up fast.
