Another quick update
Both BB and Am's main branch were crushed today between finger tips (like super cropping) and bent 90 degrees to train them! First and second pics respectively.
I accidentally broke a WW branch. No need to panic. This happens a lot and its easily fixed. Sometimes this happens when supercropping too. What you'd do in such a situation is the following:
Support the broken branch up and tape around the broken branch. Thats it. Within a couple of days, a knuckle will form where the branch broke and it'll be stronger than ever ;-)
Well thats pretty much what I did. I supported that broken branch with the scrog screen and ...... took a pic . Ill check it tomorrow. The 3rd pic shows the broken branch after I supported it with the scrog screen! The last pic is of the screen to compare it to the previous updates.

Looks great bro. Thanks for the info on breaking and training... I wish I knew that before when I broke a branch off, but am happy to know now.

Hey Dr I'm currently doing a 3×3 scrog with one plant (green crack) i have just started but am stoked I'm just finishing up my first grow had an elastic scrog net but didn't like the way it was going so the screen is gone. Did alot of research and think it should be pretty simple. Anyways I'm pulling up a chair and table for my dab rig and will be here watching along

Right on man, they're looking good. I'm glad your really training them out. The bubbleicious really digs all of that and will really reward you with some fatty buds when doing all the training. The only one I really lst, took off and gave me about 15g more then the rest of the plants. I wonder what pheno your going to get. Anyways I'm scooting someone over and taking there front row seat for this one.

Welcome aboard bro ... a lot of room in the front rows ;-) .... I too did not like the elastic scrog. So as ya can see I built this. But ill still use the elastic scrog later to help support those fat buds before they start falling over and breaking stems. Id probably place it about a foot above the screen and lower it or raise it later as needed.
Oh I also remember that I hated the big squares in my elastic screen. These 2x2" really do most the training and support themselves. I havent needed to use twist ties yet even when I pinched the stem to bend it 90 degrees.
Lets see that green crack at some point bro and feel free to ask as many questions as ya want .... If i dont have the answer, I'm sure one of the fine gentlemen around here will help

Yeah still not sure if shes more indica or sativa. I cant tell from the leaves and neither can I tell from her structure now since i kept her short n stout. Ill tell you one thing that definitely caught my attention. Rubbing or cutting her fan leaves produces a distinctly sweet scent that stands out when compared to the other girls. No matter what pheno I get, I hope shes smells and tastes like bubble gum should :-)

Another quick update.
Those girls drink and eat like crazy. My topoff ppm was 800 and main res was 900. After noticing the main res ppm was slowly declining, I decided to raise the topoff ppm to 850 and the main res ppm to 950 and see how that goes. PPM raised by adding a couple mls of FloraNova grow to the res.
Here are a few pics. The first 2 are of the knuckles forming on the BB and AM respectively and the 3rd is of the WW's broken branch which is healing but taking its time. Maybe I should have at least taped the broken part instead of just supporting it. Either way that branch is still up and growing. So its healing though taking its good ol time. Next time Im trying the clover honey application on the broken stem to see how much faster it heals.
And finally an overall shot of the screen filling in nicely ;-)
Last but not least, I finally got my Optic Grow LED light CXB3070 4000K 350W. I fired it up and WOW was the brightness (even without the lenses) impressive. I feel its going to top my 600w MH. The plan is to put it up and fire it in addition to my 600w HPS for flowering although I am very tempted to fire it now to accelerate vegging and filling the screen. What do you guys think? Worth it or waste of electricity? I honestly am not in a rush and I feel Ill fill the screen to 75% in another week to 2?! Decisions and the temptations hah

After this run I bet u put that 600hps away a buy another 360optic after u see the performance.:smile:
You made a good investment buying the optic!
I use passive intake with 6inch max fan/filter with 1700watts LED and no problems in a 5x10

I'd be tempted to put the new light up, in veg, just to see if I notice the growth rate change. A good time to test it :)

Very tempted. Ill try yo put it up asap and im thinking about getting another fan in case i need to actively force cold air in later. Right now its at 76 F average at the screen level. The extraction fan isnt cranked all the way. Little less than half speed. Im just worried that with my carbon scrubber and added wattage that I better be safe than sorry.

Thanks brother ... i may be OK on the heat side with the passive alone. Ny extraction is 8" and rated at over 600 CFM .. but my scrubber is huge and thick (diy) .. Just worried about that 'what IFs' ... ya know?
Actually I was thinking about that for a little that if I ever switched to all LED in that 4x4 would it be another 350w CXB3070 or 500w CXB3590 (with the potential of going the diy route)? And at what color spectrum, the one i got now is 4000k

So I did hang the LED light over a foot (maybe 1.5) above the MH. When I fired it I was very surprised to see how bright and intense the light was. As you can see in the pic, 2 of the COBs are kinda blocked by the reflector and the LED side is still much brighter. Does this mean my HPS will be supplementing the LED, and not the other way around? Hah. I dont want to start a war here lol I just want to see happy girls producing fat buds ... plus I like weed science lol ... we will all see the results here. I feel there will be a lot of light in that small space with combined benefits from both spectrums, thats the yellow HPS and the 4k LED. Maybe the 4k LED will help reduce the stretch after the flip.
Oh with how much light I saw in there, and actually how fast the girls are growing with JUST the MH, i think I wont fire the LED until I flip. Ill switch to HPS immediately after I flip as i read somewhere that this 4k spectrum showed reduced stretch after flipping when compared to the redder 3500 spectrum. Maybe someone with more LED and other lights knowledge n experience hanging around here will share some insight.

Another quick update. Today is the LAST day of week 6 of veg (8 from seed).
The topoff res was 'topped off' today with still the same amount of calimagic and grow. The main res ppm and pH are staying somewhat stable at 950ppm and pH of 6.0 (PPM goes down slowly still... these girls eat a lot). I also accidentally topped the Am this morning trying to redirect her main shoot which broke off! She should bounce back in no time. Looking at the pic, I feel one more week of vegging to fill the middle part of the screen a little more and give the Am a chance to recover before I flip the lights to 12/12 possibly next monday.

So soon she'll be in to flower, bro, that's exciting! I'm keen to see what happens when you flip it and how quickly it happens

Have you done much pruning?

Haha I know dude ... I cant help it ... high anxiety here lol ... Shell be fine. Hopefully this topping will enhance the growth of more side branches to fill the front half of the screen which got the Am alone. Will see I guess.
Therell be a lot of stretching at first but im hoping the white LED will keep that to a minimum. I usually keep the MH during the stretching phase after you flip to reduce the stretch. But Im thinking maybe I wont need to with the LED fired up.... will see by next monday hah.
As fas as pruning goes, Ive been trying my best. But that bubblicious is tough to keep up with. She keeps filling in the gaps below the screen... the more I clip off the more newer shoots come out. Just to try, i clipped two small branches off the BB and stuck them straight in the hydroton of the water farm with little light reaching them. The humidity is good there. I want to see if they root effortlessly ; -)

Hey, Dr, on the lights; Bro, you told me before about keeping the MH in to reduce the stretch, but I don't exactly follow... As it's the branch (veg growth?) that will stretch up, and the MH is used during the veg phase, won't that assist it stretch instead of reduce it?

Good luck with the clone! My attempt at cloning, when I broke one of the two main tops off, didn't work out. I did learn how far I need to keep my T5's away to get keep the temperapte where I want, I did find out I needed a heat mat because the medium was just staying cold, I got pretty close to keeping a good humidity in there, too, and I figured out the dome I was using was rubbish and got a new one... So although the cutting(breaking) died, it was a success. When I take actual cuttings to clone all those mistakes don't have to be made :)

I'm a bit chatty, ha ha, I just smoked a nice Super Lemon Haze grown by a mate...
