Quick Scrog Question

Hey all,

I have a quick question. Do any of you all cut the scrog screen at some point? Also, Is there a point when you stop tucking the plant under the screen and let it flower vertically?

I am entering week 3 of flowering and I am debating to stop tucking my plant under the screen and let it grow vertically. I am growing 1 plant, in an 8 Gal. DWC bucket, with Flora-Trio nutrients. It is a Super Lemon Haze plant via Midweek Song.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I am a little stumped on what to do next. Here is a picture of my current grow, as of today.

Hello so are you 3 weeks into vegging or flower? Your post said 3 weeks of vegging but it looks like flowering to me.

Sorry, I had to edit that, I am at the beginning of week 3 of flowering. The light I am using is a Kind LED K300l (220w), the tent is a 2' x 2.5' x 7' gorilla

Ok I have seen on some scrog grows on here. That they keep tucking 2 or 3 weeks into flowering to deal with the stretch. Then after the stretch part of flowering is over. They just let the buds grow. Anything that is under the screen is trimmed away to help with airflow and keep the chances of mold down.

Thanks, I've read it before but the article doesn't mention cutting of the screen or when to let it grow vertically.

Whether or not you cut the screen is a matter of what material you used on the screen itself. Some people use a very robust screen, so they can "Rip and Tear" to get the already harvested plant untangled.

Other people don't think it's worth all the effort to get the old plant untangled. So they just cut the old net away and replace it. I'm with this second group!

Perfect, thanks! I wasn't sure if people cut the screen prior to harvesting and just let the plant grow vertically. When do you stop tucking the plant under, and just let it flower?

I've decided to continue tucking the plant under until the plant stops responding to it. Meaning, until the plant stops recovering vertically.

Depending on the starin you wanna stop tucking about 2-3 weeks in. 2 weeks for a more indica style plant that doesnt stretch much and 3 weeks for a more stretchy sativa.

This is my first scrog and i tucked until the last day of veg meaning i didn't do any tucking in flower and lollipoped at day 5 of flower. It's worked out great so far. In at day 30 note20150924_214631.jpg20150904_211159.jpg 20151004_212318.jpg

^^^^the middle pic is the last day of veg maybe a couple days into flower 4 plants under a 1k there is 4 more and another 1k next to those

Thanks zchopper, this is the insight I was hoping for. Today, while I was tucking some branches, I snapped one. It wasn't a main branch but a loss is a loss. I have decided to let the plant do it's thing. I also noticed with this strain (super lemon haze) that my branches are starting to harden, much like twigs. I don't see much tucking possible in the up coming weeks, so I will let it go. Thanks for the pictures, great looking plant! I hope my one plant will pay off in the end, if not I won't be to upset, its my first grow. Thanks again for the follow up and advice. Much appreciated!

Slh is a sativa so you probably did good to tuck it for the first couple weeks to keep the streach down i knew those wouldn't streach to much so i didn't on mine
