when should i take dome off ?? (seedlings) ?

Seedlings should never need a dome. I only use a dome if i cant get temps up in winter and only with clones.

But doesnt the dome basically work like the paper towel method does? It makes the area very humid and warm then pop the dome off after u see the seed break out!

Paper towel "method" is ridiculous, but that's another topic.

I'll chime in on the damping off. It is a real problem. Too moist, too warm can rot the seed as soon as it germinates and you will never see it above ground.

Keeping any newly germinated seedling under a sweating humidity dome at 85 F for even 24 hours can be pretty lethal. Damping off is probably the #1 reason for loosing seedlings in the first 10 days of life.
