People always say harvest at 10-20% amber, but where is this supposed to be? Some of my sugar leaves are almost 30-40% amber but like 5% on the bud.
Where to look for Amber.

Hi you cant see without a jewlers loup or a decent microscope if the trichs have turned amber, if you go by the white pistils (hairs) as people call them its not a good indicator you could end up chopping them weeks too early, you need to get a scope and look around the bud sites at the trichomes and when they are say 80% cloudy and 20% amber then it would be a good time to chop

I have a 30X but if youll just click on the pic and zoom in on it, its honestly just about as damned good as a loupe. Zoom in and youll see exactly what im talking about.

Yes i have looked but although a good picture it still does not show the trichs, take a look with your 30x and if the trichs are more then 20% amber then chop them, from a point of view from the picture id say they could do with more time so you dont lose yield, sometimes in the last week of flower you can gain 20% weight depending on strain just a heads up for you

Yeah but the buds are so heavy the branches want to break.. im patient to wait one more week but thats it.

And half is already chopped and dried. Smokes BEAUTIFUL. Ive just saved the other half to wait a week or two (been a week now) to see if it does make a difference really..

I just took those. Its night time... the flash does definitely white out any color. And being in ground, you dont get the yellowing at the harvest time like you do in pots or hydro. It just takes what it needs... it would start dying when the plant was actually ready to die instead of due to flushing. If I waited til then, my buds would be disgusting. And I can assure you that is the same plant. Only have the 1...

I don't flush nor do I recommend it. If you want an answer based on the first pic...I would chop. There is always some continued ripening even after the cut.
