As it's an unrealistic expectation since store products are bred in the best conditions with other chemicals and such and only perfect looking ones go to the store
I think it's just a variety of cucumber. Every one I grew looked like that this year and it wasn't because I did anything wrong (well, one bed was hurting by the end of the year on nutrients, but the other was fine, one bed definitely had better produce than the other but they still basically looked the same). Just genetics possibly. I grow heirloom stuff mostly though.Most likely - pollination problems. Especially if it was excessively warm during the flowering period. Also, if you're adding manure late in the growth cycle, that can sometimes do stuff like this too, manure is high N, makes the plant want to veg growth. Just my thoughts.
