The toxic chemical finishes are exaggerated. If they were that unsafe chemically they would not be fit to move goods intended for retail.
I read that a coat of paint over the floor and walls would trap any possible contaminants anyway.
And the floors are pretty rough and needed to be redone anyway.
Yeah... Just think about what my vertical skills could come up with in one of those! And I have the perfect COB LED array on order...
I'm having one built and I'm testing it.You building a light?
I watched more than one documentary about building with shipping containers. They all used a sealer paint on the inside then just dropped new plywood on top.Yeah..I dunno about all that, Lumber Liquidators will go belly up in the next 5 years..they are a huge flooring manufacturing corp. Their toxic levels is way too high to be used in China but are acceptable here . ..lawsuits are changing that..you'd be surprised what kinda toxic shit is allowed to go on Here in the U.S.
sounds like a good concept for a film, or book. enclosed in small spaces for prolonged periods of time isn't my thing.I always thought it would be cool to make one of those in to a self sufficient mobile home and ship yourself around the world.
Get the container shipped by truck from the seaport to your desired location, hang out a few months then move on.
Heat, cool and electric with propane. Windows would be the only problem.
Maybe some sort of hatch to protect the windows
