Hi,

I like all the new lights on market and I am sure they all have there advantages and disadvantages. What me really interest is, which bin they use and if there panel is dimmable?

I am sure, I read anywhere that A51 is dimmable, but last time I had a look, i couldn`t found anything on the web.

So please post your knowledge and I will put it togehter.

A51:
Vero V2
dimmable: not
max. Wattage: 90W

PLC:
Cree used bin: 3500K BB
dimmable: yes
max. Wattage: 300W

GoGreen:
Cree used bin: ?
dimmable: ?
max. Wattage: 200W, 300W, 450W

HeavenBright:
Vero V2 or
Cree used bin: ?
dimmable: ?
max. Wattage: 260W, 525W, 750W, 1100W

Thanks all

Dimming is a novelty.
Wouldn't call it a novelty as much as it isn't necessary. It's nice when you're working around your grow and you don't want to blind yourself. Blue LEDs aren't all that great for our eyes. I think it's an OK way to lower temps when needed and I think Poz said that if one wanted to go away on vacation and just wanted your plants to drink less dimming can accomplish that. Personally I think PWM dimming isn't what one wants in a flowering room but I've never seen any kind of test to prove or disprove that. Who knows, maybe plants like the lights going on and off real fast :). If they do it would certainly increase efficiency of your grow room, though how much of that savings presents itself in the real world is debatable.

You're totally right...they should have to buy different wattage lights all different stages of veg and for whether or not their room is full or emptyish.
And going seed to harvest with the same light is absolute crazy talk right?
I know you're being sarcastic, but my answer is yes. I recommend anyone who actually wants to grow their own weed to have separate veg and flowering areas. I see combined veg and flowering areas also somewhat of a novelty. (look, i'm growing my own weed! check out my aerogarden!)

I get what you're saying that dimming is mostly for smaller gardens. But it not doing anything by being there if not being used...and isn't too much a cost to not include to expand possible use situation.

But it is also for the bigger gardens and facilities as well. Yes, a simple pot is not what a master gardener of a 100+ lights is going to go around and adjust everyone individually. But it is as simple as one one for one swap for POT and new plug for the option to plug them all into a master controller for the whole facility that can do more than simple dimming.

@BenSeiDank PLC is dimmable

Keep in mind for MOST of this country plant counts are a big factor when growing a SCHEDULE 1 drug, cultivation can easily lead to mandatory minimums. PA doesn't care if they are in veg/flower, seed , clone, whatever=== over 9 is a year in prison automatically here. Absurd IMO to broadly say it's a novelty as the majority of closet growers run it this way due to a legitimate fear of imprisonment. So NO, I do not recommend people grow weed at all without checking their local laws first.

I Also find dimming a useful OPTION for closet growers, not all of us have complete environmental controls and 15ft+ ceilings.

Goddamn :o :o :o and I thought NY's "Triple Jeapordy Special" of getting charged with cultivation, possession and distribution was a nightmare. At least if you give some lawyer 10,000.00 and be nice to the judge you'll get probation but 9 years for clones. Damn bro how do you grow without all your hair falling out?

dimming is a nice option, but I also find having multiple on/off switches to lower output to be just as use full and actually easier to manage.
So Purps why don't you just unplug the lights and pocket the money you'll spend on switches :)?

Its not a matter of saving cost of dimming, its a matter of being easy and foolproof for myself when tending the garden. I swear to god my pants don't squeak when I walk.

if I have a fixture running 250 watts and I can turn off half of it at the flick of a switch , that's easy peasy.
