Get you all pics soon. Ladies looking good!!@diystealthgrower How are the single stick colas doing? Pics.
You want the buds to be less dense? Now I'm getting excited. I need a plant project and here it is.
When my current mixed matched plants are done, which should be 45 days or so, I'm going to start selective breeding on the BKR to F5 or F6.
I'll be breeding for:
1. Pistils closer to the Berrys. Fat and on the shorter side. Dark orange. A lot less dense than the AKRs. So far most of the BKRs are real hairy like the AKRs. One of the current BKRs has hairs closer to the Berry Ryder's.
2. Smell. One of these BKRs smells lemony / berry / dog shitty. That would be nice.
3. Buds similar to the Berrys. Hard, golf ball size. Easy to trim.
4. Frostiness.
5. Better plant structure if that's possible.
6. And of course a nice medicated View attachment 3518967
In no particular order.
I'll start with 6-9 plants and see what happens. Keeping them fem all the way. Time for me to start another thread. "Taking BKR to f5 or f6". Stay tuned.
Every generation of offspring is considered an f#. So the first generation of children are f1. Then their inbred offspring are f2. etc.. Once you get to f7, all of the offpring should be pretty much identical (one phenotype), even with random selection of parents. Not trying to sound stupid but could you explain how the f5, f6 thing works?
Don't worry. Here's how I do it. Take notes. So I get an idea in my head, think it over for a bit, if it makes sense then I start a thread. I sound cool for a while repeating shit I have heard over the years. Then I stop talking. Not trying to sound stupid but could you explain how the f5, f6 thing works?
Lmao, we all make an efficient team. What one doesn't know, someone else probably has experience with already.Don't worry. Here's how I do it. Take notes. Then someone like yourself comes along and starts asking THE questions I need to know. Then people like @bf80255 @EverythingsHazy @tekdc911 @diystealthgrower and others smarter than me come around answering all of these questions which also makes me sound good too.
A win win for all. That's how I roll. lol
I feel like CS takes longer to work when you start late (late being even when the tops are all pistil pom-poms), but it still works. I'm not sure what the cutoff period is to see reversal, but I'd imagine it would be at least a month before the last pistils/calyxes are produced.A lot of auto's can be kept alive, for a lot longer than their recommended harvest dates, so it might be doable 3-4 weeks in. Notsure though. Now I just need to figure out a good "time frame" to hit the chosen plants with CS. For instance. I find a plant that just smells bad ass, or is real frosty but is 3-4 weeks into flower. Is it past the point to mist?
I guess the question is - At what point is it too late or useless to use CS?
Pollen can be applied as long as there are white pistils present. But CS??
I will be working with all fems. Time to do some reading...................
Ok, cool. I thought that might be what you meant, but I wasn't sure. I've never heard anyone want fluffier buds, tho. LolYou want the buds to be less dense?
No I was referring to the pistils. I want them more like the Berrys. (shorter, thicker, and LESS of them.) AKR just has a lot of pistils that eventually turn to a red hairy mess.
basically F1 is a cross / hybrid and everything after is a new generation made from the offspring F2 F3 and so on .... some people use this term for just reg seed's and use S1 S2 and so on for selfed / fem seedsNot trying to sound stupid but could you explain how the f5, f6 thing works?
i would think as long as buds are still building it would be possible to flip one and cross it with another but prolly wouldnt be able to self itNow I just need to figure out a good "time frame" to hit the chosen plants with CS. I just took these. They are BKR F1s. Two different plants. Take a look at the different pistils. Berry dom pistils on the left and AKR dom on the right. You want the buds to be less dense?

ya , you would cross it then cross the offspring with each other and repeatOk then. Sounds like the fix might be to:
1. Reverse a BKR as normal and collect some pollen.
2. Grow out several BKRs.
3. Hit your selected plant or plants with the pollen. Now these seeds would be F2s.
4. Now grow out the F2s and this is where I get stuck.
Does the process start all over. As in - Do I grow out an F2 plant and reverse it to collect the pollen.
Grow out several F2s.
Hit the selected plant or plants with the pollen. Now these seeds would be F3s.
I think I'm off about the pollen. I still haven't done my reading.
