'i'd vote for sanders, but is he electable?'..i've heard that several times from people today who watched the debate..i told them..listen to what you just said and take off the second portion of your statement.
that's your answer..that's who you vote for.
people worry too much..sanders is a wild card; not establishment, however he's no vermim supreme..if those would vote their conscience and heart, it'd be the country's biggest landslide in us history.
stop listening to the media, folks.

I think Bernie has a good heart. He wants to live in a society with morals and free from corruption.
The problem is his idea of a solution to America's problems. Bernie believes massive government expansion is the answer. Other believe God is the answer. But me, I believe in the power of the individual. The person who can best help you, is you

I think Sanders did as well as he could, but I expected his delivery to be a little more refined. That's the biggest flaw in his platform imo. Chafee was the worst one on the stage, it looked like he was extremely nervous the whole time, his plans are bland and boring. O'Malley reminds me of John Edwards, doesn't seem genuine, not really impressive as far as leadership goes.. Webb seemed to do alright but is too hawkish on war/the military/the middle east. I think Clinton looked the most confident and had the best delivery, she's obviously rehearsed every talking point hundreds of times, she knows exactly what to say when someone asks her which makes her come off fake and disingenuous.
of those traits, i'd rather be a bit unrefined. sanders didn't do any practice other than the day before. i've only seen a few clips but plan to watch tonight.
when did he say this? can you provide citation?

I agree with your take. Chafee being most proud of having no scandals was pretty telling. Fine thing to be proud of, but don't make it your first thing on your list.

have you seen the polls on social security expansion? what does your republican grandma think?..think she'd like to see her monthly check increase? if so, why? why would she want more?

It's time to reverse every corporate tax cut since Reagan. If that sounds socialist, then let's make sure the money is well spent.
Republicans love to play the double game of 'government is bad so we must underfund it- and to 'prove' it, we'll mismanage it terribly!'
There is a better way, a more equitable way. That way will lead to greater prosperity for all, not just those at the top. If those at the top don't give a little, sooner, NOT later, this will blow up in their faces. Yes, that where the money is; at the top, hoarded by the ultra rich.
Bernie Sanders is really the least of the possible 'bad' options, from their perspective. Once this leftward swing of the pendulum starts gaining momentum, he'll look like the moderate he is.

Most of the debate was a competition between the candidates to see who can give away the most free stuff. Who's going to pay for it for it all? Of course people want more free stuff. That's not what SS was set up for. Democrats created it, and Democrats are destroying it. To be blunt, SS expansion with Democrats is not about old people. Like you said, most veterans and old people vote Republican. Democrats want to expand disability as a living wage for people who's unemployment benefits have run out. That way people are no longer counted as unemployed, and the rate stays a low 5.1%

I thought I did a pretty good job. Expanding social security has nothing to do with helping old people. It's about getting more people on disability so they don't have to work. Let's say for example you've applied for disability several times, and keep getting denied time after time. Does Bernie's idea of more funding for social security sound like a good idea to you? Of course it does.
