150 k led life

DIY fixtures can reach around 200 LPW. Quality commercial fixtures should at least have higher efficiency than HPS bulbs. Anything 130 LPW or greater is worth having over a sodium bulb. Much less and it's difficult to recommend it over HPS since the HPS will generally cost less and provide more light per watt.

DIY is a solid option if you have the time and inclination. More light for less money. If you want to buy pre-built there are several companies including my own that you should consider. Let's see, Pacific Lighting Concepts, Area 51, GoGreen, OpticGrowLights, TastyLED, Apachetech, and Han's who sells a white diode lamp that I think has good efficiency.

K thanx... I run four 1k watt HP's now and looking to go LED one light at a time and phase out the 1k watterrs.
For my money, I'm going with CXB3590 run at 50W apiece to get 56% efficiency. This handily beats HPS, and will cost something like $400 to build yourself a very nice 4 COB unit that pulls 200W from the wall- and with just a tiny bit of care will very probably last until you give up growing or hell freezes over.

IIRC, @SupraSPL said this combo would produce 824 PPfd over 6ft².

No need to be like that- maybe you should reflect on your screen name. I'll make it easy for you;

i did give it a quick glance before i posted anything and the point was if that's the selling point is probably not great and my name if you want some perspective anything valuable i contribute is ignored and when i ask questions i get shitty responses so that's the karma of this place just paying it back and last off where anywhere has 5k been recommended for flower? Sure i didn't want it to come off so rude but seriously

Bonjour
If you choose the cxb 3590 3500ºk 36V CD (about 55% efficient) people here will provide you help and advices to build your fixture...
An hps 1000w de is 36% efficient and it decrease very fast when you use it
Cobs underdriven would last for 100000h without loosing much efficiency (10% I guess!)
Lots of grow journal here with cxa/b and Vero cob, with great results.
Have a great day ★

Indeed, this is the combo I'm going with, myself. The consensus, for whatever that's worth. Think of it as the RIU COB LED smallblock Chevy grow light upgrade, LOL!

I don't have a " growing style" per say ... I grow mostly hybrids and love popping new beans n pheno hunting. If I hit a home run on one or two of these ..then I'll scrog probably ... I have pretty much unlimited space - time ... I have always ran Air cooled hoods - 6" 1k watt with cheap HPS bulbs for flower.

I'm really constantly searching for the ideal strain that kills it..indoor and outdoor...

I'm just wanting to lose two 6" can fans and draw less from LEDs ... Not to mention replacing 65$ bulbs every other grow.

I like your glue scrog set up with your LEDs.. Its much more efficient than my setup.
