How to Switch from 3in pots to 6in pots DWC

Hi I'm growing 4 plants in a 4x4 tent 600watt scrog 2-30gallon totes with 2 plants in each tote. I will take 6 cuttings at 2 weeks 12/12. Plan was to root and veg in a small tent with cfl with one small tote that Will hold all 6 clones. I will eventually keep the best 4 to transfer to 4x4 after harvest.

Now Questions???
And in advance I like to thank all who help and give advice.
I love to learn therefore I've learned to listen.

If I grow my clones out in 4in net pots while my other plants are budding,
How do I then transfer my 4in pots to the 6in bucket net pots when it's time to switch?
If I use 4in pots for the clones, would the 4in pots be big enough or adequate to transfer to a tote for the remainder of the grow or is it best to go 6 in pots?
I have plenty of 4 in net pots and 4 6in pots(2 in each tote)
What's the best way to procedure with this process?

You can go with the 4 inch netpots since all the netpot is doing is limiting how big around the stalks get and if you can get a 4 inch diameter stalk I'd like to see that.

Or if you have to use the 6 inch pots due to having 6 inch holes cut just drop the 4 inch pot in the 6 inch pot/
I've done that with 2 inch pots into 6 inch, I'd either just cap the 6 inch netpot off with a neoprene insert or fill it with roks.to keep out light

I'd prefer to just use 4in pots the whole grow as it'll allow me to pull the pots out of one system and right into the other.
If I did want to use the 6s though would I just sit the 4 into the 6? What about the roots?

I use the 6" netpot lids for 5 gal buckets. Works well unless you veg for more than 1 month. I had 2 plants last grow that broke through the netpots because of root expansion.

I always thought the bigger your reservoir size, the more roots you will grow, the higher your yield. The size of the net pots make no difference except in terms of acting as an anchor for the plant. I've got 2 8 inch net pot lids for 5 gallon buckets and they are a pain in the ass to deal with when it comes to checking PH and PPM, not to mention if there's an algae outbreak, how am I going to slerilize the net pot with the plant in it? And I do mean wiping down the side and bottom of the pot where the algae ends up caking on to.

I got 6 inch net pot lids to replace the 8 inch ones on my next grow which will be coming from the 3 inch net pots ive got vegging away next to the 8 inchers. The question I'd ask is how big of a container do I need to reap the biggest yield for each 6 inch net pot? 5 gallons? 7 gallons? 13 gallons?. How big of a plant can I get by increasing the size of each site reservoir? For my purposes, I don't have room for a control bucket for my UCRDWC system which consist of 2 5 gallon buckets that recirculate to a top feed halo drip into each net pot. My lights are adjustable. My setup is stealth at 2 x 3 x 7 which im using right now for vege and a mini 2 x 2 area that I was going to setup as a vege room and then transform the stealth into a flowering room if it made sense. It may be a pipe dream, I dunno...

What strain did you grow and how big did it get?

Ummm, ya, ya he does know what hes talking about, and hes probably forgot more than most of the kids on this site will ever know.

4" nets are fine, 6" is probably better but anyone whos grown dwc would know that you cant transplant, and the roots grow to any size pot/holes/cup you have them started in and grow right on through. Rez size matters but even in a three gallon rez you can do quite well.

My comment was strictly sarcastic. DB and I go way back, I was just giving him shit. Although the smaller net pots tend to be more of a pain and that's why I use the 6" netpot that's built in to the bucket lid. Hence netpot lid. Easily pops off the top of a 5gal and has enough room to keep a plant stable. Smaller netpots not attached to lids aren't for me.

Niiiice. So I guess the issue really isn't net pot size, it's site reservoir size and root volume capacity. Because if I were using 2 inch net pots, I could always anchor them down with ratchet tie down strap, or better yet, wire ties if I don't have a 2 inch hole drill bit that I could use to drill a hole in a lid and the seal the net cup to the lid with either aquarium or marine sealant, right?

Ive done the sealant which may work for small plants but stabilizing from above with yoyos or even just wire is the way to go, a combo of each would probably work well.

Oh i gotcha i like the lid ones too. Otherwise the damn things always seem to fall through and i end up tying them to the ceiling. Ya gotta do what ya gotta do

Ive got some 2 inch square net pots with white foam inserts that are supposedly used to root seedlings. Has anyone ever used these before? They're like neoprene inserts but supposedly act as rockwool but the material seems to stiff for roots to drill through.
