First grow!

So this is my first grow. I'm not doing anything expensive because this is only for personal use. I have 2 seeds that sprouted a few days ago and I've now got them into a grow room and potted.

I do have a few questions.

One of the sprouts was almost newly emerged when I planted it. I read that doing this won't make a difference and that the plant will turn flip itself and grow towards the surface. Is that true?

Currently the setup is in a very small closet. Lighting is done with (2) 4 foot 40w fluorescent bulbs that are sitting around 4-6" above the plant. I have a fan around 1 foot away for circulation and also put a humidifier inside there also. I am using soil from outside for now.

Does this setup seem like it would work?

One of the sprouts already has leaves on it but its pretty small. The other still hasnt emerged from under the soil yet.

The dirt seems to dry out pretty fast so I'm still trying to figure out when is the best time to water and how much. So far so good. They are currently getting 24 hours of light. Figured I would run with that til it's about 12 inches tall and then switch to the 12 on/12 off cycle.

Can anyone give any advice for a first timer?

Question 1 correct! Question 2 yes it will work! Question 3 water when the top of the soil is dry but make sure it's dry under the first layer of soil aswell or you could over water them get a mister bottle and spray foliage (leaves) as that's how they'll take on water till roots have established as for a time I bought a dead cheap one was 3 quid from wilko it does what it says on the label so it's all good I do have a power plant timer which I got in a tent kit but I use that for my flower room...

Thank you! I have no idea what strain this could be. Quite honestly, it doesn't really matter as long as it helps my back when I smoke it.... I'm pretty sure the seed came from some reg that I smoked a long time ago. Then again...reg is just good bud that wasn't grown properly...if this grow works out for me I will most likely find a site that I can get some seeds from. I do have a spray bottle that I use. Before planting them I did get the soil pretty damp and didn't spray until late the next day.

Either get a dark colored pot or put duct tape round it you don't want light getting to your roots not now n definitely not later!!! Do it now while its still small

I've seen many others do that and wasn't sure why and never heard an explanation of why they did that. I do have a clay pot around the same size i can replant in, but would it be safe to do it this early if I just put them into soil 2 days ago?

Don't use clay there as bad as clear pots use plastic black or like I say get black tape round it or spray it black. The clay pots soak up water that your plant should be getting. As to transplanting if you have it all set out ready to do it it should be fine cut the soil around the seedling so whatever roots have grown will be protected while your handling it then make a hole in the new ground (in the pot) and place it in push it down a little then cover sith a little more soil give it a little water and let it get used to its new home that's how I did it
