Yea the blade situation is tricky.. I was told under 3 inches and your probably good. PROBABLY... Lol. It's all up to officer discretion really but I was told under 3 inches is usually looked at as a non issue.

Another answer is a G10 puncher... Look em up... Not going to get too in depth of the benefits of G10 and a RUBBER band to hold it to your belt but I'm sure some smart fellers might get the advantage... They don't hold up to use at all but if left sharp until it's time to use them... They poke reaaallll nice.

I was told since these are made of G10 they fall into a weird grey area too.. If your taking advantage of its non metal construction someone might be a little salty,, might even press charges... buuuut in normal circumstances these are considered "art" in most jurisdictions.


Sooooo long story short... Who knew art class could save your life!

Yeah I was told by a cop a few years ago that a knife with a blade 3" or under is ok.

He also told me that if they ask you why you have the knife do NOT say self defense or they can jail you under the guise of carrying a concealable weapon since your intentions are to use it against someone.

He said the only right answer is to say it's for work for cutting boxes or something like that. Guy was also a CPL instructor and that's what brought up the question. Knives are not allowed to be carried for protection in MI, only pistols oddly enough.

Ya that's a good point. Always say a knife is for "utility". Improvised defensive weapons can still get you in trouble too but I'd rather be judged by 12 then carried by 6.

I know of a gentleman who was jumped by 6 guys when it was just him and his brother. The confrontation began when they knocked unconscious the guys brother into a bloody mess... Said guy retreats to a pick up to put it between him and the group and in the bed was a baseball bat.. Not his.. No one he knew.. He picked it up and whipped the shit outa those boys.. He got knocked up a little but for it being 6v1 he only had minor injuries compared to how bad it coulda gone... The 6 on the other hand didn't fare so well.. One in particular got it bad and the guy defending himself against SIX ATTACKERS spent 9 months in jail for assault with a deadly weapon... He had no lawyer and the guy who got beat up did so that's a major factor in this case too but still.. 6 v 1 and a baseball bat can still get you time.. Better then death tho like I said.. Always be prepared to fork over a kidney for a lawyer too if you plan on fighting for your life and not finishing your assailant... Even if you do finish him off you might find yourself in a Fight for your freedom.. Just always be ready to justify all actions 4 fold when it comes to self defense.

In my opinion.... There's no way a taser is going to kill your assailant... It's a lawsuit waiting to happen..

"I was just asking him directions and he ZAPPED me" when in reality he was full blown attacking you but unless on camera it's his word vs yours.. I don't like those odds and that arrangement is far handicapped towards a liar.. Usually the criminal in those cases.

If the situation calls for a weapon(super rare) I want a lethal one personally.. Before teasers required a cpl I could see carrying one when you can't carry a gun but now it's basically a less then lethal gun since you could carry a gun too so to me.. Carry the gun.

Wayne County prosecutor is currently seeking the two year mms against a customer at the shop who was a little over on his meds thanks to trim and had a shotgun in the home.

As far as I understand it's OK to possess a firearm, but when it comes to purchasing a new pistol or attaining a cwl your breaking the law, because they come right out and ask you if you use any FEDERAL classed controlled substances. As soon as you are over your med and plant count your fucked if you encounter the police. Your treated as a drug dealer with a firearm, which just adds years to the sentencing guidelines for drug charges.

I sold all of my firearms when I moved to MI....

But the way it's worded, you could in all honestly say you are not involved in illegal drugs. And the Fed can't insert itself into state MJ laws.

So this now seems defensible, depending on officer and prosecutor discretion.

Simple answer, don't go over your plant or med count. Seems pretty straigthforward to me.

I don't recall the part of the 2nd amendment that states if you use or have used illicit drugs you cannot posess a firearm.

I do recall the part that clearly states in plain English "shall not be infringed".

And not to mention nearly everyone I know that has purchased a firearm in the last 20 years had lied on the form.

When the Constitution and Bill of Rights were authored none considered the judicial supremacy of a government captured by lawyers for our own protection that we see today. No one could have foreseen the criminal prohibition schemes of alcohol, guns, prostitution, gambling and drugs seen in the last century that would build this historically unparalleled, uncontrollable and unaccountable empire we call the Department of Justice today or the worlds greatest prison population they have accumulated. Yet not one of those issues or it's threats promised protection against are better off today, yet we just keep sending more lawyers, guns and money to accumulate under this umbrella of regulatory capture.

Or was this government threat exactly what the founding fathers had in mind? If so, who's going to stand up and fight back under the rules they have established?

The sword I got was definitely folded. I mean no one has real Damascus steel. The one I got is 1050 carbon steel, good enough for me. I'd love to own a real 250k sword made by the masters in Japan but I'd rather have 250k wrapped up in a house.
