heating a hoophouse

hey guys ive been a member for a while but rarely post gotta question I'm considering growing autos for the first time. since autos aren't light cycle dependent I was considering building a hoophouse and digging a trench either inside of it or outside of it and putting bricks and some wood and building a fire but let it burn down to the coals do u guys think that would produce enough heat or to much that way I can grow outdoors year round

Wouldnt you have to keep the coals going to keep it warm? seems like a hassle, have you considered a small hoop house with a portable heater?

I have but I was looking to not to have to use electricity It can get cold where I live but not like in the negatives or anything I would mainly like to keep it atleast in the 40 degree range at its coldest any suggestions besides electricity do they make battery powered heaters or anything like that?

Natural gas and kerosene or liquid propane heaters... Autos are garbage.. Grow photos.

Once you have dealt with the cold,

next would be the condensation

followed by molds and fungi

indeed you are in for a severe learning experience

far better to re-locate indoors until the solstice has passed

easier learning too then when days lengthen

then drop them to ur fallout shelter ...lol

I'm not a fan, they are only good for a bumper crop IMO outdoors..and they are susceptible to rot and mold outdoors... So what good are they ? You get better quality and yields on photoperiod plants.


Propane or Natural gas n kerosene aren't cheap....I wouldn't waste fuel on Autos ... I'd get a HARDY photo that doesn't mind the cold .
