Now that Kevin Mc Carthy doesn't want Boehner's job, who do you think will be the next speaker? Why?

]Trump vs Bernie would be fun stuff
Trump vs Clinton would be hello Pres Clinton.

He could never be himself if Clinton is running against and being himself is what started the lovefest to begin with. Candidates attack each other, it's what they do. The media will not let Trump get away with attacking Clinton, it will be framed as attacking women instead, it will be repeated until it's believed and he will lose.

I keep hoping one of the fringe guys gets more play and sounds electable. From either party really. Webb made the most sense, but he came off as the bitchy officer and turned the "I like his hair" voter off.

I like pubs with 2/3rd control. It's how the budget was balanced last time. It's how we've shrunk the bloated deficit from when dems had full control. Full control is bad for the country no matter which party has it. If a pub wins the election, I hope they lose the Senate or House but not both.

The democrats have balanced the budget, only to watch republicans destroy it over and over.

The last time it was balanced we had a dem pres and pubs controlled the purse. Recent history only, overall history the pubs have sucked at it.

Our deficit explodes when either party has total control as seen in 09/10. The pubs gained control of the purse again and the deficit has been reduced even though they will not receive credit for it, Obama will. Remember when we were calling a decrease in the increase austerity and it was going to make seniors starve? Well, the deficit is lower and Obama gets the credit even though the measures enacted were while the dems were kicking and screaming against them. Funny how that works (for both parties).

For the most part though historically the pubs run up the credit while dems get their war on. The opposite of what either party stands for.

lol no

The budget was balanced under control of pubs with a dem pres. Hard to say that's all on the dems. Agree that it was also the pubs who destroyed it though. They balanced it, they broke it. Dems blew it up in the name of crisis, pubs reduced it in the name of obstruction.

Nobody really balances the budget though, nobody really cares about the deficit. All they care about is getting re-elected.

The budget has been going down since sequestration right? Think there is any causation/correlation?

Remember when sequestration was going to do the opposite and the sky would fall? That was the narrative anyway. Now that it's cut the deficit you want to take credit for it.

dude....really?

Historically pubs have exploded the debt/deficit. This time the dems took their turn exploding it while they had complete control. You will not get kicked out of any clubs or banished to leper island by admitting this. Most people were able to admit it and that's why the political bloodbath handed to the dems occurred. Most people got it.

Think about that, the pubs were so awful bad the first decade. Very few people will disagree with that, they were awful. So bad in fact, that the Dems were able to get full control of the holy trinity of government. Then dems were so bad when given that control that people who knew pubs sucked, still preferred them over dems.

both parties suck at budgets. Newt and Bill might be the last ever bipartisan effort we'll see when it comes to balancing a budget. It will also take another tech explosion of course by the private sector, but we'll pretend we don't understand that either.

Well finally someone who admits that the deficit has been going down under this administration, but listening to all the right wing media outlets the reverse is true.

We were still feeling the Bush tax cuts until 2010 but as soon as it expired there was more money in the treasury that the deficit went down. The sequester didn't happen until 2013 so it was dropping when there was more revenue

Did the sequester help in reducing the debt, it sure did but the deficit was going down.

The deficit was also going down because we weren't doing a stimulus every year and we got paid back by the banks and were able to put that money in income column.

Now if we actually counted QE3 and what the Fed pumped into wallstreet then our deficit is in fact going up, but we don't count that for some reason.

2010 is when the house was taken over by pubs. The house is in charge of the purse. so by your own words, deficits started going down when pubs took control away from dems.

Aren't partisan stats fun? We could both do this all day but hopefully the lesson learned is nobody is really interested in the debt until the other party is in charge.

Like I said the sequestration did help to keep the deficit down but just because the pukes took control of the house in 2010 they were there to just say no to everything so it's a far reach to even think that the pukes had anything to do with lowering the deficit. The pukes finally took over the senate in 2014 but by then it was all Obama, it's been over 5.5 years of steady job growth in the private sector, lowest unemployment since the early 2000s, control of double digit health cost all done with no help at all from congress, the pukes only occupy space in congress, they've done nothing at all except obstruct.

The pukes have been unable to govern since takeing control, and the speaker job is a nightmare with the clown caucus in there.

nice revisionist history.

if what you said had any semblance of truth to it, we would have seen balanced budgets and deficit reduction with more republican control.

we had more republican control and got the biggest deficits in the history of the nation.

the lesson here is that you are fucking retarded.

no matter how many times you repeat your lies, they are still lies.

the dems reduced the all time record deficit they were handed when they had complete control.

and you are a white supremacist.

2010 is when the bush tax cuts ended, and when the deficit reduction really started happening thanks to that. the republicans fought that tooth and nail, if you recall history correctly, which you are clearly incapable of.

jesus fucking christ, just STFU and go away skinhead.

The deficit has grown each year under Obama, what are you talking about? Why do you think we are borrowing from China?
