Too soon to add nutes??

Hi guys,

My plants are now two weeks old but growing very slowly. They were mainly just in occasional sunlight on my windowsill but since it's been cloudy for the past week I decided to put them under LED 225 panel grow light.

They have now been under the light for about 18 hours a day for the past 3-4 days.

My question is are they still too young and fragile to add nutes to?
I bought some nitrogen rich fertilizer today but wanted some advice before adding.

Thanks!

Don't be in a hurry to start pouring nutes on your babies. She's coming along slowly because she's still putting down roots.
I think vostok is right, more soil next time would help. You want enough room for the new taproot to grow straight down for at least 4 inches unrestricted.
Of course you could always just use some good rich potting soil and skip the chemical fertilizer all together if you change your mind.

Normally mj seedlings bring enough stored energy and nutrients for the first 2 weeks of life., personally i always feed at 2 weeks for the first time, but in this case like others sed just wait until u c the cotyledons leaves turn yellow, then that will indicate you that she ran out of stored nuts and energy., at that point start with 1/4 strength veg nutes every 14 days and work ur way up alternating with water, feed, water, feed, water etc. Happy growing! Good luck!! Toke on ====~~

I'm a bit confused. By more soil do you mean to add more of the same potting mix I've already used? The pots are quite deep. More than 4 inches down for sure.

What should I do to help them grow a little quicker?

No nutes first 3 weeks as a general rule. Transplant that thing and fill soil all the way to the cotes. Sunlight has left that stem spindly and weak. Roots will shoot from the part of the stem you buried.

If I put the lights any closer they will be touching the plant. Don't know where this went wrong but it kinda feels like they've just stopped at this stage and ain't growing anymore but ain't dying neither.

Plants go in stages and spurts. Just because you feel it's "stopped" doesn't mean it's not working for you. I think your soil mix is a bit hardy for seedlings so the roots which are developing now might be struggling with finding the bottom of the pot. I can tell you didn't read about drainage. If you had, you would know that cannabis likes looser soil. That's why people add perlite. Anyhow, as I told you before. Read more

Plants often grow higher and you can see it. But they also slow above the ground growth when root development is taking off. Patience is a virtue in our game. Avoid trying to help too damned much.
