Using a Credit Card at Attitude? Here's the Skinny.

I placed an order as usual with Attitude and got stalled right before the "order successful" confirmation page should have popped up. I checked the "my account" page and saw my order was termed "awaiting payment". The order never got paid for. To make a long story longer I emailed them and was told that my Visa/Debit card from the US was acceptable, BUT, US customers must push the "Visa" button, not the "Visa/Debit" button, when picking a payment option. Sounds like a problem at their end and I don't care as long as I know how to manipulate around it. Now you do too.

Banks are promoting not using debit even locally now. They want you to only use your PIN number at ATM's. I got a free $5 in my acct. for selecting credit over debit all month while they were promoting it last summer. Makes sense. My daughter lost $900 from her acct. to someone in Romania. The bank said her PIN was 'breached' and she lost that money.

I'm curious if this is a country thing

Canadians mostly use debit never had a single problem
Come to america I'm told never use debit only credit

I got the impression that Attitude was feuding with the CC issuers. I talked to a lady at Attitude and she gave me the feeling it was a UK-US thing.

PS - How does an OG get to be an administrator? Hit my first joint in 1964.

I'm sorry I took your thread off topic I was meaning debit credit in general everyday use not on attitude

We're not looking for mods at this time but every user has a chance when we do to sign up
Takes a few years and some hard work before being an admin
Basically the few who are are the ones and that's it probably no more new admins sorry

I'm not sure...

I wish I could use PayPal for these kinds of things (seeds) but overseas places don't seem to have that option.
I only ordered seeds from 2 different places, both Canadian...one takes PayPal, the other used to take credit cards but recently stopped for some reason...

The whole thing kind of sucks. I'd love to buy seeds from some different places...but I don't want my checking account raped by cyber bandits. Maybe I watched too many episodes of the Sopranos. They would rob people's credit cards using old receipts.

A couple years ago, I lost my debit card. Next day I called the bank...somebody had already used it for over $200. The bank made me file a police report and then refunded my loss. I asked the police chief if they would go after the guy (they have cameras where he used it) but was told it would cost the police thousands of dollars to go after him...and since I only lost a couple hundred, they didn't want to spend that much.

But banks won't refund debit thefts. So...that's it, no more debit for me

Never had a person be able to take money from my debit in Canada
I practically loose my wallet on a monthly basis too lol
Have had a paypal problem once

The ordering seeds for uk to us (it's the UK that won't allow our credit cards) a lot of seedbanks Banks are moving to China...be careful make sure you look where there bank is located now...I believe midweek song has a China branch....AND NO WAY IN HELL AM I SENDING MY DEBIT/CC to those Chinese computer wiz's

I've went threw western union and sent money to UK and they recognized they pick up person that works at the seedbank and notice I was from US....sent my money back immediately

If you do run into problems message them on here...sherry and Gavin are very reasonable, especially show them respect they will get what you need done especially any problems they are the best....imo.... I have seen them take care of so many people on here...they usually message back fast...you can search gorilla seed bank review on here and you'll see a few threads

Thanks... I have read some of the posts about them and how they reply. They are quick and always on top of issues. My buy will go to them for sure, hopefully they will have the ones I want when I am ready to go... trying to warp up what I got going and tweak my grow area and flower area before getting seeds... would love to have them now, but want to spend the money on lights and things I have learned I need to upgrade from the two grows I have done/going.

I live in the States and I always order from Herbies have never had one issue using my debit card. Ordered on three separate occasions have always received my order in 7 to 10 days and the more seeds you order the more freebies you get....If you live in the states Herbies is the best imo! Its actually the US banks that will not allow cards to be used overseas without prior authorization from the card owners. We do not have that with our cards in the UK. They can be used worldwide. If you have trouble use a netspend reloadable card that you can purchase at your local walmart. Untraceable and as I said reloadable but again make sure it can be used overseas. Almost ALL UK seedbanks will take them so should sort out all your problems.

Just thought I'd chime in here, I live in the U.S. And recently place an order with you guys (MidWeekSong) with a debit card. No bank authorization needed. Payment went right through. Also midweek has crazy fast shipping. Received my order within 5 days with a lot of freebies, not just seeds. Shirts and stickers, a grinder and some papers. I think it was because I bought some seeds on promotion. Awesome company! Also, it definitely didn't ship out of China. Lol

The only reason I would choose credit when useing my debt card instead of debt is there is no added charge. The added charge is picked up by the store instead. I order seeds from herbies with no issues useing my debt card.
