Who won the debate? Cruz, for schooling the liberal moderators real damn hard who were pitting one against the other and not asking questions to get meaningful substantive responses.

The party that divides, the party of hate rises to the occasion.

I had to watch this 3 times, in awe....just could not believe how cool, quick, and smart he did his schooling thingie regarding the mods constant inciteful insults. :fire:

1. "The questions asked in this debate illustrate why the American people don't trust the media," Cruz at Wednesday's Republican debate. "Everyone home tonight knows that the moderators have no intention of voting in a Republican primary."

* Quintanilla - "Congressional Republicans, Democrats and the White House are about to strike a compromise that would raise the debt limit, prevent a government shutdown, and calm financial markets of the fear that a Washington crisis is on the way. Does your opposition to it show you're not the kind of problem-solver that American voters want?" CNBC anchor Carl Quintanilla asked the presidential candidate.

2. "Let me say something at the outset," the Senator from Texas said. "The questions asked in this debate illustrate why the American people don't trust the media."

"This is not a cage match. And you look at the questions -- Donald Trump, are you a comic book villain? Ben Carson, can you do math? John Kasich, will you insult two people over here? Marco Rubio, why don't you resign? Jeb Bush, why have your numbers fallen? How about talking about the substantive issues," Cruz said to commanding applause from the audience.......

There's more........

3. "And Carl, I'm not finished yet. The contrast with the Democratic debate, where every thought and question from the media was, which of you is more handsome and why?" Cruz asked and then paused to cough.

* "You have 30 seconds left to answer should you choose to do so," Quintanilla told the candidate.

"Let me be clear," Cruz said. "The men and women on this stage have more ideas, more experience, more common sense, than ever participant in the Democratic debate. That debate reflected a debate between the Bolsheviks and the Mensheviks."

"Nobody believes that the moderators have any intention of voting in a Republican primary," Cruz said.

"The questions being asked shouldn't be trying to get people to tear into each other, it should be what are your substantive solutions to people at home," Cruz said before getting cut off.

* "I asked you about the debt limit and got no answer," Quintanilla said.

4. "You want an answer to that question?" Cruz asked. "I'd be happy to answer your question."

* Cruz was interrupted this time by John Harwood who said "we're moving on."

"Senator [Rand] Paul, I've got a question for you," Harwood said in his attempt to move on.

"So you don't actually want to hear the answer, John?" Cruz called out the anchor. "You don't want to hear the answer, or you just want to incite insults?"

"You used your time on something else," a dismissive Harwood said.

"You're not interested in an answer," Cruz scolded.

"I'm interested in an answer from Senator Paul," Harwood retorted.

Yeah... Wtf! Go back to asking about God and Jesus ...and Gays getting married.

While I do loathe the media.. Politicians are equally repulsive.

Nobody in that clown show has a any chance at getting in the white house unless they pay for a tour.. It is a cage match to entertain the viewers.. This thing is a train wreck.

Almost funny. Even Cruz's question only gave him a choice between his opinion or being someone people would vote for.

Always an uphill battle when conservatives have a slanted force informing the stupid, ignorant, and complicit.

He ended up showing the nation what the democratic media smelt like. Buck would be proud of the fact that they smelt like poop.
The moderation was a bit biased but it always is. Educated and empathetic people, want an egalitarian society. They do not want a society obstructed from civil rights, stemmed from your delusional beliefs of a deity. How bout you keep your fairy tales and fantasies out of my reality?

It sounds like you are ready for civil war? Are you ready? Lets get it on.

The moderators were obviously coached to bring the drama instead of the info. The funny thing about Cruz's tirade is he conveniently avoided answering the question. I thought it was funny he tried to answer after his time was up (all he said was do you want an answer? he never attempted one).

After that exchange it was a free for all. The moderators lost all control and people on stage just talked about what they wanted and for the most part the mods were trivialized.

CNBC tried a smear tactic debate, hoping to get them to attack each other and it backfired. When you are in Boulder CO and getting groans from the crowd for biased questions then you know it's bad.

I only saw about 30 minutes of it, but if the other 90 minutes were different I'd be surprised. Carly Fiorina gave some really solid answers but she's too unlikable for office.

I was psyched the debate would focus on economic issues so it was annoying to have so many stupid character assassination questions that had nothing to do with the economy. But not surprising coming from cnbc.

Hopefully the next dem debate will be on economy as well.

If push came to shove, I would jump at the chance to eradicate religion from all society's.
You can't eradicate it through legislation, that would only entrench people in their views, that's what prohibition does, it will only go away through education. Since half of our country still believes in the fairy tale you can borrow your way out of debt, I don't have much hope.

Whoa! Whoa! Who said anything about legislation? Why do we have more venues for religion than education?

Because that's what people wanted? Aren't all of the religious venues set up by the people and most of the education set up by government? I think most of the education set up by the people involve religion. We have an uphill battle. The worse things get, the more people cling to religion.

I think if we eradicated religion as it exists, it would just reappear in a different form. People need something to believe in, for some it's government, for others it's God, for some it's "self" (those people are the most criticized).
