Only thing I would worry about is the motor burning out and half your ladies losing light. Happened to me a few times back when I was using HPS.
I highly doubt it man.Would you think it's possible to hit the 5 pound mark with this set up
What would you recommend as far as pot sizes, should it be topped or not, etc. I'm gonna use two DE 1000'sI highly doubt it man.
Hitting two pounds per 1000w single ended lamp is a huge yield. And has allot to do with the strain and your experience. Hitting 2.5 is legend status i've done it, or came close a few times over the years.
I'm currently hitting 3lbs per 1150 watt double ended fixture, but thats with DE's over a larger area, and a big yielder(gg4). Oh yeah, and i've been growing for a long time
If pounds are your goal plan on vegging them a long time, topping them well and using SCROG. Since you are planning for battle plan it all from the start. And then get serious about reading all about hydro methods. Ebb and flow, DWC or UWC etc. What would you recommend as far as pot sizes, should it be topped or not, etc. I'm gonna use two DE 1000's
Remember that I'm growing Sea of Green with ebb and flowIf pounds are your goal plan on vegging them a long time, topping them well and using SCROG. Read upon SCROG versus SOG for max yield then. Sorry.Remember that I'm growing Sea of Green with ebb and flow
I wanted to grow vert but i was wondering how to deal with the heat issue. I want the room to be sealed so that i can run co2. My room is in the garage therefore there is no AC. Any thoughts?Grow vert. 2 lbs per light all day long. No hoods, no ducting, no bullshit.
And twice the canopy per bulb. Just saying, it pays to not follow the heard.
The room is sealed, and i can throw a wall ac in no problem, can CO2 be ran if i use a wall ACRunning co2 for a one or two bulb grow is kind of silly. It's down right stupid if your room isn't sealed.. nothing like pissing money away.
Listen, if you want to grow great weed indoors then you need an AC. I see soooo many people fucking around with trying to air cool shit. You might as well call air cooled rooms "pest injection systems"
Just throw a wall banger AC in there. Done and done.. and it will help control humidity.
i completely agree i bought 5 cobs and wow the light intensity is over 200,000-lumens at 4 inches and 70,000 at 8 inches away compared to my othe leds they are 50,000 on the light and 35,000 at 8 inches away i am sold by that i love my light meter next i need a par meterI've used light movers in many ways for almost thirty years. They spread light, they don't create any. The only way they help is to spread out crazy hotspots.
If you're looking for a magic technique to get more growth from less watts, it already exists; COB LED. These can easily produce light at well over 50% efficiency, roughly twice what HID can manage.
Back to your 4x8' table; more light will get you better buds, up to a point. That point is between two and three thouies- and between four and five 600W lamps.
I've pulled almost four from a 7'x3.5' using 2 HPS thouies in Magnum XXXL 'Ocho' hoods.
Treat yourself; get an Apogee quantum meter.i completely agree i bought 5 cobs and wow the light intensity is over 200,000-lumens at 4 inches and 70,000 at 8 inches away compared to my othe leds they are 50,000 on the light and 35,000 at 8 inches away i am sold by that i love my light meter next i need a par meter
I'm going to say it's very unlikely.Would you think it's possible to hit the 5 pound mark with this set up
How do you plan to set up your COB vertical garden, I was thinking of doing something like this. I just haven't seen in done in a gardenTreat yourself; get an Apogee quantum meter.
I'm going to have 4800W of CXB3590 COBs up and running over my vertical setup this December. If they perform anywhere near as well as I think they will, I'm going to sell every HID I own and turn my back on the tech forever.
Good advice re. environmental control. I just installed a 5 Ton heat pump. The hot side is what I'm most excited about; free heat for dehuey! It will pay for itself by (finally!) letting me run CO² supplementation.
I'd say it's top secret... but really, you just train your plants like ivy; right up a trellis, and hang the lighting beside it. CFL, HID, COB, the plants don't care as long as there's enough light. How do you plan to set up your COB vertical garden, I was thinking of doing something like this. i am in the same situation with these cobs i have i came up with using my 6 inch ducting hooked to fan and filter run the exhaust under the building to cool the air and return the exhaust end to another part of a intake almost geothermal concept but it should cool the room a few degrees pending weather but winter should nail it perfect. idea was to use co2 and recirculate and cool the air before it re-enters the tent. not sure about the variables though for winter so am homing it in before i am balls to the wall on it. believe this will save me valuable co2 by recirculating it.used a 25 foot 6 inch duct and will update effects with winter good or if its to cold or how to adjust itI wanted to grow vert but i was wondering how to deal with the heat issue. Awesome idea dude, thanks for sharing! I think I might try this on a setup I'm constructing soon.i am in the same situation with these cobs i have i came up with using my 6 inch ducting hooked to fan and filter run the exhaust under the building to cool the air and return the exhaust end to another part of a intake almost geothermal concept but it should cool the room a few degrees pending weather but winter should nail it perfect. idea was to use co2 and recirculate and cool the air before it re-enters the tent. not sure about the variables though for winter so am homing it in before i am balls to the wall on it. believe this will save me valuable co2 by recirculating it.used a 25 foot 6 inch duct and will update effects with winter good or if its to cold or how to adjust it
i am going to try vert grow soon. in the next 6 months i will be trying it outGrow vert. 2 lbs per light all day long. No hoods, no ducting, no bullshit.
