If you're so totally tapped $5Can can get you two 500 watt holagens Good for heating the place in the winter also
Little bit , I don't doubt their ability to turn out nice buds I just think once you hit 300w+ it's better g/pw ratio to just use a 250w or 400w hps.Anyone else still doubt CFLs?
It's tough to say.. I love the 150's though. Very handy. They grow one auto very well.Sunny747, how does the neat of a 150 HPS or MH compare to a 250 cfl? Just curious if a 150 hps is better than the 250cfl or not as far as heat and lumen? I dont have a way to really vent and right now I seem to be able to keep the closet used for flowering and grow area at 76 degrees with just fans and no exhaust. I want to upgrade the light at some point just cant vent in the place I have now, maybe in 2017 when I move.
Cfl's arent garbage if they didnt work out for you i think that speaks for ur skills not the bulbs lolTHEY ARE GARBAGE....buy a real light source, not ur living room lamp
Not in the least it comes with practice and continue marijuana use....lolMy CFL rig.. You can all tell I am not as handy as Vostok. As you can see I made every beginners mistake. This box cost me about $200 to build and I out grew it by week 3 of veg Ahh.. the good old days

Thanks!! I will prob get an HPS to try for flower, just concerned with heat, but then I wont know until I try right...It's tough to say.. I love the 150's though. Very handy. They grow one auto very well.
What's nice is that it's just one light to move up and down. Also with my CFL rig I worry about the safety..
Last winter with the average temp in my place at 72 degrees I ran a 150 in a 16x16 inch x 4 ft tent that I made for an auto. I cooled the space with just a small 5" personal fan from Walmart that was blowing through a filter. Temps stayed around 76 F.
It's hard to see, but there is a small fan and filter at the top. This is her with the 75 W LED. What a hunk of shit that thing is I gave up on it a few weeks into veg and popped the 150 hps in there.

Check around the 150's seem to be widely available on the used rack at hydro stores. Brand new they are $80. Not sure it's worth it in the sense that a 400w is $120, but for growing one pant you can't beat it for many reasons.
Be sure to buy a new bulb. Bulbs are only good for maybe two grows. After that they dim. Bulbs are around $10.
How many days in? If ya need help trimming and smoking, I am there for ya...... Darn nice, thanks for sharing...

And the hardest part is waiting now.... hard not to sample....40 days
Glad ya got enough to keep ya in good spirits... those of us just starting need some good grows like that one of yours to get our stash up until the next harvest....Luckily I have more than enough smokables to deal with the wait, but just a few weeks and she'll be done
Let's put it this way... 150 hps is no hotter than 200w of CFL in my opinion. CFLs are hot. Touch one after it's been on for a while or try to pick it up. Even LED's are warm. The bulbs are cool, but the drivers run warm. Everyone says LED is so cool. Not necessarily. Thanks!! Thanks... and petemonkey...sorry..wasnt trying to highjack your post... sometimes I forget where I am... and thanks Sunny747... gonna try an hps maybe after the holidays, got some planning to do first..Let's put it this way... 150 hps is no hotter than 200w of CFL in my opinion. PS.. Panda film and PVC are a great way to make a tent. Doesn't cost much nd you can always reconfigure the tent size for different situations.. A tarp zipper makes it pretty sweet.Thanks... and petemonkey...sorry..wasnt trying to highjack your post... sometimes I forget where I am... and thanks Sunny747... gonna try an hps maybe after the holidays, got some planning to do first..
