, I don't doubt their ability to turn out nice buds I just think once you hit 300w+ it's better g/pw ratio to just use a 250w or 400w hps.Personally I like to use cfl or t5 for seedlings/clones, led and/or CFL'S for veg and 400w HPS for flower, in total I draw about 800w-1kW/hr for all the lights (18 hrs veg, 24 hr sprouts and 12 hr flower) end up paying about 200-300 more on electricity but thats 2 harvests per power bill, at approx 3-4 zips a plant, 4 plants, that's a lb of zips... $3000 saved on greenery that I can now put toward other stuffs.
I guess if you're a light smoker and not going through 7g a day cfl's would probably be more efficient but I used to spend $250-350 a week on greenery, I may have spent more on setup but it more then pays for itself.

It's tough to say.. I love the 150's though. Very handy. They grow one auto very well.
What's nice is that it's just one light to move up and down. Also with my CFL rig I worry about the safety..
Last winter with the average temp in my place at 72 degrees I ran a 150 in a 16x16 inch x 4 ft tent that I made for an auto. I cooled the space with just a small 5" personal fan from Walmart that was blowing through a filter. Temps stayed around 76 F.
It's hard to see, but there is a small fan and filter at the top. This is her with the 75 W LED. What a hunk of shit that thing is
I gave up on it a few weeks into veg and popped the 150 hps in there.
Check around the 150's seem to be widely available on the used rack at hydro stores. Brand new they are $80. Not sure it's worth it in the sense that a 400w is $120, but for growing one pant you can't beat it for many reasons.
Be sure to buy a new bulb. Bulbs are only good for maybe two grows. After that they dim. Bulbs are around $10.

Not in the least it comes with practice and continue marijuana use....lolMy CFL rig.. You can all tell I am not as handy as Vostok. As you can see I made every beginners mistake. This box cost me about $200 to build and I out grew it by week 3 of veg

Yeah I do like that idea of 1x 150w hps per plant tho..! or even 1x150 HPS per 3 weeks of growing,
or every 21 days you flick on another 150w HPS, so you arrive IN THE ZONE (harvest day) with all 4 running= 600w
power bill should go like a 45 degree chart, so you can average to the median, for a standard 12 week grow
from memory my old a 150whps kicks outs 46000 lumen/lux at 4 inches of the topmost leaf
and the 600w HPS kicks out 660000, lumen/lux ,at 8 inches
this idea could be a viable key to those wanting to cut their bills down with these traditional lights

Let's put it this way... 150 hps is no hotter than 200w of CFL in my opinion. CFLs are hot. Touch one after it's been on for a while or try to pick it up. Even LED's are warm. The bulbs are cool, but the drivers run warm. Everyone says LED is so cool. Not necessarily.

PS.. Panda film and PVC are a great way to make a tent. Doesn't cost much nd you can always reconfigure the tent size for different situations.. A tarp zipper makes it pretty sweet.
