Got three plants going which are apparently auto flower, see seeds from the same batch popped and they are certainly autoflower. How ever I got one plant which is almost three weeks old and it looks about 5 days old and I got one about a week old which is really tall just not much leaf development and another one a week old which tiny. I thought the super slow growth maybe the pot which I got them in but I replanted them just now and two of them literally just have the tap root no hairs on it what so ever ? Don't have a clue what's going on im tryin so hard but they just don't want to know :(

Everything is find - remember there are different "pheno-types" meaning all from the same mother but different - just like use humans - it genetic - suggestions use 3gallon pots. Here is growth stages: weeks 1-3 Vegation stage , weeks 4-8 flower ---- this is important in feeding your plant

I wish I could show you guys in person, there is zero sign of flowers yet so I'm still feeding it grow nutes

What is the medium you are using? What type of water - tap or RO? Any idea of the EC/PPM of the water?

To much water maybe? If they are getting to much water the roots wont grow searching it out....and to much water will stunt growth as well

If you looked at the roots that close....you messed up....with autos that is...with autos, you put them into the big pots, don't transplant, don't overwater and let them do there thing with 18-20 hours of light

I seen the roots by complete accident I was changing the pots and the soil crumbled and it was literally a tap root I didn't know what was going on, I'm using seedling compost and using standard tap water which is also very hard but when I add my nutes the ph is between 5.5-6.5 ?? I thought everything was bang on, my humidity is really low but my temp is spot on :/ this is so hard but I ain't going to give up

That's what she said.
Where did you get the seeds? Have they frozen and thawed a few times or anything like that? Sounds like weak genetics for sure but since they're what you have... try to keep your ph closer to 6.3 not 5.5 and don't water every day.

Maybe my lack of roots is down to soil heat, would foil at the base of the plant help reduce the heat of the foil ? I'm thinking it may be pure genetics or super stunted growth but one of the seeds has grown about 6 inches tall and got its first sets of leaves in a week so I just don't know

So they just sprouted and you already freaked out and transplanted them. Congratulations, you probably killed them. Next time dont touch them. Theyre autos. You plant them in five gallon pots and dont touch em. Well i guess you can probably get a harvest if you read some threads on autos so you dont pecker em more than you already have.

one of them is three weeks old and about 3 inches tall that isn't right especially for autos, anyways these are a learning curve I've bought new seeds from royal queen hoping these will do better and I will plant them in the pits I want them to be harvested in. I'm a complete newbie don't need to be so negative

Ok, so with the new seeds; soak them in reverse osmosis water overnight and plant them the next day. About a quarter inch under the soil and make sure your soil PH is between 6.0 and 6.5. I like to use a couple CFL bulbs a few inches from the soil to keep them warm and cast some softer light on any emerging seedlings. I haven't had a bad one yet.

So I dunno, do you even have a light on them?
I have 2 auto's going and I have a light on them.

You just sticking them in a window like my damn wife and letting them suffer?

Oh shit, I just reread your post and you are adding nutes to the water for week old seedlings? KNOCK IT OFF! Just straight water for the first 2-3 weeks if you're in soil.

Ah, good catch.
I wasn't getting much info from any of this.
I don't know, he might have 2000w lights 2 inches from his seedling or stick em in a window for all I know.

My wife planted a bunch of herb seeds and they all sprouted, turned 90 degree left towards the window, stretched til they flopped over and died.

I got them under a 250w hps and the light is about 4.5 feet away from the seedlings, how ever one of them is coming on so strong and looks amazing compared to the other two and it went through exactly the same process. Since I've bought a timer for my set up its worked wonders and it's helping them a lot. Thanks for the replies and I'm going to learn from my mistakes and buy some ph down, my water is well over 7 and my feed can bring it down to 6.2 to that's why I been using feed. But I am an absolute newbie and you guys are teaching me a lot just don't need negative critasism everybody got to start somewhere

I'm wondering if the nutes you were giving early on as a seedling might have stunted her in some way.
I'm new too buddy, but the more info the better :)
Wondering if you should lower those lights a bit. Just don't lower it so far that if you put your hand over the top of the plants you feel it hot/burning. I use LED so someone else can chime in on that one better then me.

All in all the PH sounds good. Way better than mine
good luck!
