Air leaks in cool tube!

What would be the best way to seal an air leak in my cool tube its around where the glass and metal ducting connect, its a store bought tube shouldn't even leak, real piss off. Thinking I need something heatproof right? Any suggestions don't really want to use duct tape on the glass so don't say that haha!

Pop into auto zone and ask for exhaust tape.

Or use the foil tape that hvac guys use for furnaces and ducting. I use it for my hoods.

If I'm going to use tape can I not just make due with the duct tape then? I mean I was thinking more along the lines of something similar to a silicone or something if you get what I mean?

I had the same thing once. Go with either of the suggested tapes. Easy to remove, and stays on there...

duct tape WILL delaminate from the heat in about a month. 3M HVAC tape, flexable and perfect for hot/cold applications. or use silicone caulk. I sealed 5x big kahuna hoods with silicone caulk.

Auto parts store for RTV silicone sealant. Heat resistant. Pliable so heat expansion will not affect it and break the seal.

most quality 100% silicones (specifically GE 11.00 a tube line, what I use) has a 30 min rain ready, and 3 hr working ready. and is weatherproof

So silicone won't deteriorate from the heat though right? want something that's going to hold well.

3 of my BK hoods still sealed strong after 3 yrs of use. I also run 2x 8" 720 cfm fans thru them as well. I use caulk on certain things and tape on other things.

I would worry about off-gassing and the smell from the above. when I would use that for sealing trans pans/oil pans, shit would really irritate my eyes badly.

also, its wide to scuff with a scotch brite pad for better adhesion on what ever product you choose. this stuff doesn't like to stick to painted/powder coated surfaces so well and will peel off easily.
