Mars hydro 300w led

Hello all,

I'm going to be starting my first grow and I'm wondering if my Mars hydro 300w (60x5w) led is going to be sufficient for my 2'x2'x4' grow tent? I'll be growing female autos- 2 Northern Lights, 2 Blue Mystic and 2 Bubblicious all from Nivarna in 1 gal pots.

Depends on what you consider sufficient. What are your expectations/hopes? It's about 1100 lumens per foot which isn't a lot.

Sufficient enough for a good yield. A couple of ounces maybe?

Thanks, so do I. I'll be growing in soil. The mix is 70% Happy Frog, 30% FFOF and 30% perlite. I'm sure I'll make mistakes along the way but you learn as you grow...

I use both those soils, 50-50. I've only been growing indoors for 2 years and learning a lot as I go forward. I grow outside also and some breeding, just having fun with it. My favorite hobby. My first indoor was nirvana Snow White, the potency surprised me. Pretty decent.

Nice...I wanted to do the 50-50 also. But every thing I've read about autos is they don't like the soil too hot. I figured if I did the 50-50 I would nute burn them.

I'm hopeful of getting 2-3 oz off of one 150w, 300w should be fine. Watch your height in that grow though. You'll probably need to keep your plants at LEAST 12" below the light... add in soil height and led height/depth... and you've got less than two feet to actually grow. I'm running into a similar issue in a 5' tent, best of luck.

I use some eBay leds that are cheap I use 2 300 watt leds in a 3x3x5 does fine until I decide to move on to better things. Once I think my runs are complete then I will upgrade to something a lot better

It wouldn't be overkill. You could easily double it.

Do you have any suggestions? My "150w" 90w-draw (link here) did phenomenally during veg, but I'm either going to double it (link here) or just add some cheap red:blue led's (red dominant).

Either look into cobs or hps there's tons of threads on here for do it yourself cobs and you save a ton of cash but me I'm no handy man

i have a total of 4 300w led from mars. i love them. they are awesome. not sure how i did it, but i pulled 5oz dried off a bagseed that was solely under just 1 of them. i've got them in all 3 of my tents. i did buy 2 of the green 150w ones. they, to me, are garbage. i dont like them at all and they "might" be ok for side lighting. but i'm not a fan. the 300w's.....LOVE THEM

Hello all, just an update of 2 of my lady's (Blue Mystic & Bubblicious) are 5 days old. The other's have just broke soil. My grow tent willl be here end of this week or beginning of next week. For now I have them in my seedling/ clone box. Here's a picture of the 2 lady's. Please feel free to advise if something doesn't look right with them! The bigger 1 is the BM.....
