DWC to Perpetual

yeah, i've seen that stalling out when eating too when i was doing rdwc. one thing i tried which seemed like it worked was to give them a flush once a week. on day 1, i'd give them just pH'd water. on day 2, i'd add nutes (i had to kinda guess how much water they drank on day 1 to mix up my nutes). they would eat like crazy on day 2 and 3. day 4 thru 7 would kinda taper off. then do another flush and repeat. it seemed like they ate plenty on day 2 and 3 to make it thru the rest of the week.

now that i'm doing these auto feed hempy buckets, i've cut my EC way down. they are just getting done with the stretch and i'm only at 0.48EC and don't see any deficiencies yet. i only use RO so i know water isn't an issue anymore.

The stretch in flower? Damn thats low feed.

My issue is clones. They will grow vertically and look deficient so I cannot bring them into flower until they improve and by then they are even bigger and I run out of room height wise. It probably didn't help that the stock I took it from wasn't healthy. Cause the clones I took off the Stinkbomb still look good, they are just taking forever to root. 4 of 6 so far day 11 of cut.

Another issue with seeds is they will get to be about a foot tall and start getting interveinal chlorosis. At a foot tall they are getting 1.2EC so clearly there is enough feed there.

yep. week 3 of flower. i'm kinda surprised too at how low the EC is.

could you try using RO or distilled just for the clones? see if it makes a difference or not? that pH of 10 seems way too high for my liking. is that muni water? you'd think it would cause some issues with it being so high.

do you use any rooting additives to give them a kickstart? or just like a cloning gel when you cut the clones?

I have an RO filter, but it wasn't working right water was seeping out the threads. I was told teflon tape would solve this. Problem is the filters have sat for so long when I went to move I found there was still water in them. So I feel like the filters are junk.

10.3pH actually at 0.2EC it is municipal water. I have had issues ever since I moved here. Tried going back to the same nutrients I was using at the old place and still had issues. Im suspecting it is high in calcium causing lockout of mg. Getting exacerbated by high Ca to Mg ratios with nutrients. Heavy 16 is 5:1 and the calmag i use is 3:1

Naw I just cut the clones and put them in my aerocloner with tap water. Once they grow roots I add enough nutrients until im 0.8EC

I guess imma look like a silly fuck buying 11 galllons of distilled water for my stock. But oh well.

I look nerdy...people will just think i have an aquarium.

So i was doing that not procrastinating thing and took apart the RO.

Not sure I should have done so with a compromised immune system as that was some nasty ass smelly water. Probably got legionnaires disease. If the water were cold enough. I covered my face while emptying and cleaning it.

SO now I need new filters. The company I bought it from, while it was the cheapest source I could find, the customer service is in China and they fucking suck to say it lightly.

i had one of those cheap-o RO units until I saw how much grey water it created to make pure water. Since we are on a well, I tossed it. I just fill up the 5 gal jugs at wally world. luckily, i only use 10 gals a week so it's not a big deal.

Yeah I think the one I have is a 3:1 turn around.

4 gallons to make 1 gallon of RO. I dont think imma bother buying filters for it unless I find something fucked up with the water analysis im gonna have done.

I did run the tap thru Brita filter and got 80ppm at 5.8pH.

Out of the refrigerator that says 'replace filter' i get 80ppm at 8.7 pH. Leaving me to believe the Brita is adding carbon to the water, which reduces the pH? Not even sure if carbon does that.

Got 11 gal of distilled water. Time to switch over to dry nutes.

Is having a tap that important or should I just use a cup to scoop out nutes?

Im gonna need 1.28oz per gal. Which is an odd #. Converted to ml thats like 38ml. All I have is 3ml pipettes....This will be fun.

Also if i need

if you're gonna use dry nutes, don't you need some type of scale? like a reloading scale or an accurate kitchen scale?

Depends on how much money you spent on it. Measuring 2270g in 350g increments aint the most accurate either. Assuming that the most the scale would be off is 0.1g thats a possible +/- of 0.7g.

Thats not going to matter anyways since its a 100:1 stock.

I didn't spend more than $25 on my scale and i've had it since 2005 when I started smoking.

Only measures in .1g. But you're not getting a hundredth gram scale for $25.

@firsttimeARE - Would you run rooms or tents? Whats your preference? I see you have different rooms currently but if you had an ideal setup. Which is the preferred.

Rooms. Im actually gonna be consolidating this weekend and splitting my 10x12 into (1) 10x7 and (1) 10x5.

I gotta bust out the tent againt to put my flowering plants in so they dont get their sleep interrupted when I divide the room.

Going to have an intake with fan from the flower room pumping conditioned and co2 enriched air into the veg area and have a passive exhaust so the air can go back into the flower. Essentially turning the veg into a positive pressure room.

Thats for the summer. Imma exhaust heat for the winter.

If you want a tent I have a 4x4 Jardin if you want. $100 firms.

Mixed up that stock last night. I opted against drilling holes in it and will just stir it good before i use it.

I didnt want anything to leak. Id rather have water on my floor than salt water.

I stuck my.meter in for shits and giggles and got Or reading. That shit must be stteeeeerrrooonng.

It will do 1135 gallons so it better be.

Yo how are those pipe dream doing? they're the biggest strain in the tent here.

Thats not bad for a 4x4 Jardin...100? Paid 240 for it 4 years ago.

The pipedreams not good. One better than the other.

For some reason the clones have curling growing tips. They were getting .9EC lowered to .7 to see if that does it...finally getting a feed drop.

Lengthy fuckers for sure.

My Blue OG from Dinafem is doing fabulous. Only 1.0EC. Imma have to scale back @ttystikk formula. My plants cant handle 1.4EC veg and 1.7EC flower.

at least not in bubble buckets.
