I think a solid red cup is actually genius. Red stands out, its considered one of the main colors for the season, and since everyone else is printing Christmas related things all over theirs I would expect the Starbucks cup to be the most recognized coffee cup for the next couple months.

Maybe they have some really good marketing guys/gals who all ready figured all this shit out, maybe they just pulled it out their ass while having a meeting, at the bar. Either way its a win.
