First off, the definition of rich is wrong. Nobody with an agi of 380-400K is rich! Reich actually got it right in his discussion about the .1, .01 %. The trouble is that there just isn't enough of the really fat guys to justify the rape of them alone. Really think about his justification for going after them ... "they've paid higher in the past", sounds fair to me.
I have to admit, I didn't watch past Reich.
Reich is pretty candid, in his "gobbledygook" way of saying, going after people with money is the only solution because fixing the problem is too damn hard so might as well do the feel good stuff. Even though I haven't had a chance to listen to Zandi, his introduction hinted that he now believes as much.
I will add, that if these guys were so damn smart they would be focused on a discussion about solving the fundamental problem, "lack luster economic growth" that unfortunately looks like it maybe the norm for a while.
But the fact is, in this political climate, it becomes a really difficult problem. Perhaps they discussed this later on in the debate. I'll have to watch it when I get some time.
Pie, I like your spirit. Hang in there.
