I just got some new beans a few months back for the current run. Most of the hype is gone, but the seeds are still premium $$ at $85 for a pack of 10. Sub dosn't do feminized anything, so I think that can be off putting for a lot of growers since it makes hunting mothers more difficult. Personally I like that, keeps the genes strong I think.
Theres really only 2 strains you come across, the more sqauty 3 footers and then the 4-5 footers. The 3 footers get the more baby food smell and the 4-5 footers are the lime/pepper smeller's. The 4-5 footers are the high yielder's IMO, the 3 footers less so but have a more fruity finish. Potency wise it can go either way, but usually its the taller ones (I guess more apollo leaning).
I think the people that have had complaints on smaller buds topped too many times or had the smaller variant. The sweet spot for this plant is 4 tops on the tall ones I think, any more and everything becomes mid bud sized. I usually top at the end of the first month, instead of early on. Its more like a double node top, once the main shoot starts stretching. There will usually be 2 nodes and two mid-tops at the same height right at that point, also I up-pot to 5 gallon coco at that point. Give them another 2-3 weeks and off to flower. I easily get 5-6oz per plant on average under 600w. 4 plants jard up will last 2 years easy.
They do have a tendency to fox tail, but I don't mind that. They can have loser structured buds, but you don't need much. Really sticky stuff, I think sub said it was his favorite plant to make hash oil with. Clean up is also a snap usually.
lol, sorry, I like my vortex!
