Who cares? If anyone deserves a tax break its blacks and they dont have one! Why do Hawaiians deserve a free ride? Most Hawaiians dont even support the bill thats whats funny.

I love how you are coming up with your own statistics because you know some people who are. The race wouldnt be neck and neck if "MOST" people were afraid.

This is hilarious.

No doubt there is racism taking into play, but just as much ppl hate McCain for the same reason...

That is where you are wrong... Do some research... Hawaii hasnt had a race ran government since 1810-1816 when Kamehameha I was king. I lived there for 13+ years and have ancestors going back for 4 generations. Hawaii has been a multiculteral ran government since the 1800's.
Wherever Vi is......I atribute the above to our shitty schools.

For someone that has so many ties its a shame you don't know the history as well as you should.

In 1893, Queen Liliuokalani announced plans to establish a new constitution that would have replaced the so-called "Bayonet Constitution" that was established during the reign of King Kalakaua by American and European residents under threat of violence. The new constitution would have restored much power to the monarchy, but this was opposed by (mainly foreign) business elites. On January 14, 1893, a group of American and Europeans formed a Committee of Safety in opposition to the Queen, and seized control of government. United States Government Minister John L. Stevens, responding to a request from the Committee of Safety expressing concern about possible violence directed against American citizens, summoned a company of uniformed U.S. Marines to come ashore to enforce neutrality. As one historian noted, the presence of these troops effectively made it impossible for the monarchy to protect itself.[16]
The overthrow of Queen Liliuokalani was successful and the monarchy ended in January 1893. It was replaced by a Provisional Government composed of members of the Committee of Safety. There was much controversy in the following years as the queen tried to regain her throne. The administration of President Grover Cleveland commissioned the Blount Report, which concluded that the overthrow of Liliʻuokalani was illegal. The U.S. Government first demanded that Queen Liliʻuokalani be reinstated, but the Provisional Government refused. Congress responded to Cleveland's referral with another investigation, and submitted the Morgan Report by the U.S. Senate on February 26, 1894, which found all parties (including Minister Stevens) with the exception of the queen "not guilty" from any responsibility for the overthrow.[17] The accuracy and impartiality of both the Blount and Morgan reports has been questioned by partisans on both sides of the historical debate over the events of 1893.[18][19][20][21]
In 1993, a joint Apology Resolution regarding the overthrow was passed by Congress and signed by President Clinton, apologizing for the overthrow of the Hawaiian Kingdom

At least you have your reasons....im not saying everyone thats old is racist....but truth is old white voters dont trust the guy....and think hes al queda or something....What you think obamas gonna take all your money and give it to hispanic and black mothers??? The truth is alot of taxes you pay dont just go to welfare cases.....they go to politicians, space programs, war, education, rodes, etc.....even poor, average, to lower class people have to pay taxes...while big corporations get tax breaks..... .... you think all your money goes to welfare cases....think again....its the lower and midddle class people who make our economy function...while the rich make out like bandits on the sweat of their labor.....obama is for the working class and understands injustice...dont get confused hes not gonna take your life saving(2dollars)...he wants to take more taxes from the wealthy, corporations, and oligarchs....Mccain is for cutting the wealthiest taxes....and no body wants any of your measily tax dollars anyway....we want exon mobils 12 bilion dollar quarterly profits to pay for health care, education, and programs that create a better future..... obama 09
Thank you for the above post, cheezy. I consider it to be an excellent example of why we must take our education system out of the hands of government and place it into the hands of the private sector.

"the way government works is we pay taxes, and in return the gov uses that money to make our lifes better(spend our money wisely)"

Wisely? You mean like the three trillion dollars that have been spent on Lyndon Johnson's "War on Poverty" that has done nothing but create more poverty and dependence on government?

"its the lower and midddle class people who make our economy function"

Sorry, but it is risk, investment, capital formation and the free market that makes our economy function. The workers gain the benefit of employment and should be grateful for it. They can/should show that gratefulness by doing their part, i.e., showing up every day on time and producing MORE than they are being paid for, thereby ensuring that they will have a job the next day and the day after that.

"obama is for the working class and understands injustice"

O'Bama is a university graduate and a multi-millionaire. O'Bama is a slick Chicago politician who knows exactly how to appeal to the under educated who believes his bullshit and succumbs to his class envy slogans. He appeals to under achievers who want more than they produce at the expense of those who you call "the rich."

"we want exon mobils 12 bilion dollar quarterly profits to pay for health care, education, and programs that create a better future"

As though you are entitled to the unearned, right? What does exxon do with their profits? Who owns the corporations? If you are entitled to corporate profits without earning it, would you be willing to subsidize those very same corporations when they post quarterly LOSSES?

Here's an old adage that you have obviously missed and one that is not taught in our government schools: "There ain't no free lunch." :blsmoke:

Did you get that from the Hawaiian Reorginazation act site? Its a shame that you dont know the REAL history that there was a multiculteral ran government (yea the one listed above) Queen Lilioukalani sat side by side with whites and did not have just Hawaiians running it. It was Chinese, Americans, British, Japanese, Portugal...etc etc... the list can go on and on. There has NOT been a Hawaiian RACE Ran government since King Kamehameha I was the king. Promise you that. I know wtf I am talking about.

In the uk we get socal money for unemployed and sick $80 a week and up words

Now from this european union started we now have are streets filled with people from the poorest countrys in europe all looking a piece ,
The place was already full to the brim. not many homes or jobs the usually.
now they deside to let who ever wants too come in and make the problems worse

I think it is vital to look after societys most vunerable , Its always easy to say if i can do it why cant they , bum , loser ect
But theres always a reason for some one to get in that situation, most never got a chance in the 1st place to live

There is to much of a gap between rich and poor .. Like why would one man ever need 10 billion

The money the u.s government makes from the lotto alone is enough to help the vunerable with hospitals child care unemployed and sick

Treat a man like an animal and that how he will live

Queen Lilioukalani was not the only Hawaiian member that had say about the government, other members signed Hawaii right on over and were proud to become a part of the United States.
The US made an apology in 1993 saying that they took Hawaii away, but after research are trying to find a way to fix what they said.
There are over 150 bills helping the Hawaiians become more prominant. There is no reason to pass that bill. And Hawaiians are hardly like the indian tribes. As I said, do your research before you assume.

Well they forced her into jail and made her sign a treaty ( it think it was a treaty)
The had a monarchial society so she was the one in control.....They didn't have a parliment like the British.

And they are trying to fix what they said b/c people like you didn't even know we stole it......

For being so proud to be native Hawaiian you sure don't seem to know to much of your heritage.

A monarchy is a form of government in which supreme power is actually or nominally lodged in an individual (the monarch), who rules as head of state, often for life or until abdication, and "is wholly set apart from all other members of the state."[1] The person who heads a monarchy is called a monarch.

Great research and source, WIKIPEDIA lmao... My point is, that Hawaii has NOT been ran by SOLELY THE HAWAIIANS since the early 1800s. The welcomed help from other people which made their government multicultural/racial. When it was taken away, there were many dif races living there, not just hawaiians... but the hawaiians are the only ones who are going to be repaid for what they feel was stolen.... and the "Native" Hawaiians are the only ones that feel they have the right to benefit from it, even though what was built was built with many other people.
It is not fair to give them a race based government because THEYVE NEVER HAD A RACE BASED GOVERNMENT since 1800's- and since thats the case, its been over a 100 years since they've had their government which makes their request null and void. Thats why it hasnt been passed yet and hopefully Obama wont be elected in order to prevent the passing of the bill.

Seems like the gov took the upper hand by pitting the hawaiians against the other races....see now you wont rebel against the ways of the corporation ran gov...instead you take your anger out on the hawaiinas....theyre smart....similar to the way the gave european immigrants higher wages than blacks ....and in turn black more freedoms for black than women... to put them against each other..if the blacks, woman, and european immigrants would have united they would have joined forces and fought the corporations....in short... hate starts when injustice occurs...in your case you hate obama cause you hate the hawaiins cause they get benefits and you dont...just like putting a woman and black man head to head on a ticket to encourage hate from white woman toward obama(black men).....think about it.....

Cheezy ...

Pointing out your ignorance is not a personal attack. Being ignorant regarding a certain subject, in your case your ignorance of basic economics, is nothing more than saying that you are devoid of knowledge in that particular area. Had I called you "stupid," that would have been a personal attack.

With that said, I'll point out another area in which you are devoid of knowledge; history. The platitudes, bromides and slogans being foisted off on you by O'bama is a repeat of history ... a history that has led the ignorant down the road into economic slavery.

Now, you'll have to excuse me from the forum for at least the next fifteen hours. I have to go out into the world, talk to strangers and try to sell them something. :blsmoke:

Oh, and talking about parallels, here's a book I recommend that you read:

Getting the Lay of the Land II: Marxism, Postructuralism, and Postmodernism

Marchand. "The Parable of the Democracy of Goods."
The parable of the Democracy of Goods is "one of the most pervasive of all advertising tableaux of the 1920s." Marketing was used to show that all Americans could acquire the best goods no matter one's social rank. The middle class could eat the breakfast of the rich people (i.e. Cream of Wheat like the Biddle family of Philadelphia). Rich and poor would face such embarrassments as athlete's foot, bad breath, and body odor. They could use the same products to be cured of these ailments. The advertisements were displayed in "every man and woman's" reading material, the newspapers, not just the fancy magazines. Thus, although Americans could not "freely" choose their social status or politics, they could "freely" choose which product to buy.
Marchand. "Visions of Classlessness, Quests for Dominion: American Popular Culture, 1945-1960 ."
America as melting pot united during the second World War and was said to soon become a "World of Tomorrow" and the "American Pastoral." Instead, our popular culture became more homogeneous than America had ever known. Television became the ultimate mass "culture medium" and "served more to nationalize and homogenize" than any other aspect of American life. Blue jeans, TV dinners, family rooms, mobile Californians, housing developments, and suburban areas flourished. American consisted of the so-called "classless prosperity," or people with no class divisions and plenty of mass communications to tell them what they needed.
Barthes. Mythologies. "Striptease" and "The World of Wresting."
Barthes take an in-depth look at what most people would consider well known parts of American society. This is not always the case. Striptease, he states, is a contradiction. The woman is degraded but she is also disguising herself using art - elaborate costumes, make-up, dance, etc. These artistic elements that must be rehearsed and perfected ultimately "hide" her nudity. For many women, it becomes a career. Another spectacle in American society is wrestling. Barthes traces it back to ancient theaters. Anyone who thinks wrestling is a sport, like boxing or judo, is sorely mistaken. Like striptease, costumes and movement are used to demonstrate emotions - in this context, suffering, defeat, and justice. Both are used for entertainment and have been for centuries. Leave it to Americans to elaborate the theater even further.

THEYVE NEVER HAD A RACE BASED GOVERNMENT since 1800's- I have never got drunk since this past weekend.
So just because we came in there and jailed the Queen and made them accept our treaties. They don't deserve anything?

And PS. Sorry i was going to say towns but wasn't sure....never been there. In Europe they are villages. I wasn't talking huts and shit.

:peace: ~~TLB

The people that colonized the islands. Got them running and successful. Those are the Native Hawaiians. Then like other places people from the region moved there. The influx of caucasions and shit didn't happen until Britain, France, and US realized what a crucial place these islands are.
