Mounting surveillance camera in grow tent

Usually overkill is cool, but in this case, it's simply ridiculous and unpractical. You would be better served to place one of those drop cams somewhere in the tent. The latest ones can live stream to your phone, have motion sensors, and even alert your cell with a text if there is movement, not to mention the units are the size of one of those bullet cams you have pictured
So i should go buy a dropcam when I already own a setup that does all of that? That is ridiculous and unpractical

It's legal.

Even if it wasnt, the cops around here wouldn't seek out a 4 plant operation.
There is a federal grow operation in Louisiana that is legal, but nowhere else. Fed law still applies, even in states where pot isn't banned by the state. I keep seeing people claim cops are uninterested in small growers. Small growers are a cash cow for LEA. Bust a guy for growing a single plant. Confiscate his home, vehicles, and bank account.

"hey sarg, we got intel on a 4plant grow. We are about to hit the jackpot. A 1985 Carolla, a shitty rental house, and the $500 in his bank account be all ours!!!!! Cha-ching!!!!!!!"

Haven't you heard of "legal" dispensaries getting busted? You seem unaware of how cops bust people on relatively small charges in order to put pressure on them to narc on their friends.

I hadn't read that you already had the system. In that case, then I guess use it. By all means. Although you only need a single channel for that miscropic garden of yours. 4 bullet cams for 4 plants however ? How amusing.

I can understand hidden monitoring of access points to the grow. If it came to be that someone found the weed it would be best to know who and when.

And if it's legal why not have it so a person could check on pumps and HID's etc via the internet.

Touché Bro. Like an arrow in my sternum, you got me. Further, after a quick analysis and the revelation that I'm dealing with a dude in an apartment, with such a small grow, and a Lorex system( although at least you went with 1080), I simply can't bring myself to shit on this thread any further. Not unlike the Tiger in the jungle who let the Canary loose from under his paw.
At ease homes. And carry on.

Oh a stab at apartment dwellers and small growers. You likely clowned on 90% of this site's members.

I thought my story was that I lived in a shitty rental house. Which also is likely to be on the list of your unapproved.

Bring that 90% up to a cool 95%.

I've thought about adding a camera to the tent for simple novelty/fun. I don't mind the idea of being able to check that the lights have come on, etc, too. I was worried about the IR, as someone mentioned above, messing up the light cycle. A cam with no LED is the other option, of course.

I see someone posted a picture that looked to be under IR LED, no issues with light cycle?

There's any number of systems on the market that offer remote cameras, monitoring and control. Many work with both Android and iPhone platforms.

You can even DIY with Arduino.

I monitor temps and get warnings using an ecobee wired into my heating, extraction, and lighting relays. If something happens to my room which causes temps to rise or fall I get an email but no cameras yet lol. If lights go out temps fall, I know it but can't do much about it if on a job site so I'll probably just panic lol.
