Microscope trichome pictures: am I ready to harvest?

Got a 500x USB microscope. It looks to me like I'm ready, or maybe a day or two away from harvest time, but as it's my first time, I wanted second opinions.

What do you all think?

Id wait a bit, check other zones of the plant to see if the ripeness is on the same level. I personally wait until I see a bit of amber, so other parts are not underdone.

Generally speaking, people tend to pull down too early.. For example Soma suggests when _you_ think you are ready go one more week.

Whats the rest of the plant look like? Is it getting a "crispy" feel? Have all the hairs shrunk, turned red or brown, and pulled back into the bud?

Can you show the rest of the plant? Based on some "hairs" showing in the first pic, I don't think that plant is anywhere near mature. Trichs should only be checked towards the end of it's life, that means at minimum the hairs should be brown/reddish and curled. I have a couple of strains that if I went by the trichs only I'd be pulling them at 4 weeks, they're 8 weeks strains. Here's a Blue Dream at 5 weeks, nowhere near ready but if you hit the light at the right angle the trichs would show up looking "cloudy" which is irrelevant at this stage. Length of time the plant has been flowering may or may not be relevant unless you've grown that strain before, could be the breeder's estimated time is low, or your lighting isn't up to par and flowering is slow...

Here is more of the plant. On the main colas, I would say roughly 40% of the hairs are brown and curled in.

These are Lemon Haze from Emerald Triangle. They are supposed to be 65 days to harvest, and I'm on day 45.

Sounds like they still have a way to go. I just got the microscope today, so I'll just check each day til I start to see a few brown trichomes.

Yeah, that's what I thought from that first pic, 3 weeks easy before you start worrying about the trichs...

I was using that exact image, Mount, but I can't really tell from my photos how cloudy the trichomes are.

I like that link below though, hadn't seen that. Thanks!

Glad the link may have been helpful. Unfortunately one mans translucent/clear may be anothers cloudy... If you hadn't planned on it already, make yourself some good notes when you harvest, and take more of the great pics from that awesome scope as a reference when you harvest, then smoke, rate and review to give yourself something to go by in the future. I have not done an auto yet, but with my photo's I have staged my harvest so I could get a feel for each of the 3 steps listed in the chart... just to see what was best for me..Its looking good, I am sure you will enjoy the fruits of your labor...

Once you have been doing this enough, you can smell when they are ripe. I know i'm gonna hear shit about this, but, you can tell not just by looking but smelling, ask a blind man.

Seems possible, whats he smelling for when its ripe?.. I do something similar when picking melons at the market..

Intensity and aroma complexity over time... but I wouldn't know what fresh "ripe" cannabis is supposed to smell like since finished cannabis for smoking is finished via curing.
