Cloning flowering plants.

I know that it is possible to clone flowering plants. My question is how will they do after they root? I remember reading something about cloning in flower and the plants that you clone will end up being monsters after they get put back into flower. Anyone ever done this and can tell me about their experience?

Sometimes they do this thing called monster cropping. They explode with shoots and you get lots of the main branches super low. Its ok if you plan to scrog, not so good if you want tall plants.

I did it. When it gets roots and grows it starts throwing up 3 leaf then single leaves, single non-serrated leaves. It was a mess! It doesn't branch but does get very leafy and bushy. It wasn't practical, even it mine did bud those spindly little branches wouldn't hold anything up. It's a lot of stress and the end result will look like it unless you're one of the lucky few who can spend the months re-vegging it and start over, best of luck

Not a ideal thing to do but sometimes you have to do things like this ,if you have the same strain or can get the same gentics again don't bother,it will take a while to root then revert back to veg.

Thanks! I don't have the space to grow tall so I have to flower my clones almost immediately after rooting.

That's my problem,I can't get new genetics out here so I'm pretty much screwed after my current grow. I started back up as a hobby but it's slowly pulling me back in.I swear I'm not complaining!

Just when i thought i was out ,they pull me right back in lol re vert the plant,i would not clone i would just take all the bud's of and just leave a small amount of growth on the bottom put back on veg cycle then once you have new top's with out flower's either clone or just continue to veg then flower the plant but after taking clones.

I appreciate the info! I definitely don't have time to just let them sit and re veg. It's super hard to find any genetics out here so I guess I'm going to have to order like everyone else. I can't wait for the day when I can buy domestic! A person can dream, haha.

I've never done anything like that before but I was always curious to see what happens. When I do this at the end of the cycle, should I prune the roots and re-pot since I'm trying to get it to re-veg?

I would suggest cloning a lower branch, preferably a lower branch that has fans but no shoots starting.
I took 3 cuttings last night. These plants have only been on 12/12 for about two weeks now. I'm actually pretty impressed by how fast they are developing, but I think that may be due to the container size. I'm pretty sure I can get away with producing some good shit if I let those ladies go for 60 days.

I read in someones signiture..
Becareful growing mj is addictive. Couldn't agree more. It makes you feel good. Its like watching fish in a tank. Well this tank doesn't have water.

I clone during flower. Take it from the lowest spot you can find. It will be cupped or in a small pot till the mother is done. For me that is.

You could just finish flowering the plant, harvest it but leave enough larf to keep it alive, put the stalk back into veg, and then clone it after it reverses back to veg and starts growing again.

I have both heard and seen that. Does it really just go into veg. Or does it need time to switch from bud to veg?

I thought you was on about plant's that were a lot further a long,2 week's is fine soak the cube's in a bit of clone - x
I have taken cutting at this age a few time's they will be fine,I have been using aloe vera a hell of a lot with vegging plants
in the past few month's since seeing the piece mendo dope posted on you tube, and i have to admit the plants love it,
I have just rooted 5 clone's in 5 days,,pretty fast, took 5 with cubes soaked in aloe vera and using it has the rooting compound
and then took 5 the normal way with clone x soaking the cube's in a little clone x and using it has the rooting gel, they took 12 days, the seedling's i have going are also loving it has a feed,Clone's like a pk so i see no problem a lot of grower's i know soak there cube's in flowering nutes very light soak but it all ways works.

Good luck tyke

I have never done it but I know of a guy that does it all the time, I think it takes a while for it to reverse, not sure how long.
