I can't find anything online yet, but I just heard on the radio that 3 Dispensaries were raided in Nanaimo today. They said the three had complaints of selling to underage non-patients. Anyone else know anything?

Gotta keep them away from anything attached to medical though. If the dispensaries want to be seen to be legitimate businesses, they need to stick to their rules of only serving legitimate patients. Kids can get their weed at school, like we did.
I was mostly kidding. In a perfect world I'd like to see them wait until their early 20's to start booze or weed. But of course in the real world that's completely out of touch.
Let's face it every teenager for the last hundred years got the things that were forbidden. Most of us ended up ok.
It's the way it is, not necessarily the way we want it.

Anybody know which dispensaries got raided ... ?
On Nov. 25, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police warned the owners of the "gray market" cannabis dispensaries in Nanaimo, British Columbia that raids could be imminent. On Dec. 1, they carried out that threat by serving search warrants to three of the 10 dispensaries that received cease-and-desist orders on Nov. 12.

Trees Dispensary, Phoenix Pain Management Society and Nature's Source Society were the stores that were raided. According to dispensary owners, police arrested onsite employees. Anita Roy - the manager of Trees - told The Nanaimo Bulletin: "I wish it would have been me because innocent employees should not be arrested or harassed in this way."

According to Canadian law, all storefront cannabis dispensaries are illegal. So the police are within their right to raid the shops in Nanaimo. However, police action is still surprising because Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has pledged to legalized recreational cannabis use in Canada.

The government hasn't specifically addressed reforms to medical marijuana regulations that don't permit the operation of dispensaries. In any case, the RCMP said in a press release that they will enforce the rules as they are, regardless of possible Liberal government plans to eventually change them.

"Marihuana (sic) is regulated as a controlled substance under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) which prohibits the importation, exportation, trafficking, cultivation or production, and possession of it or its derivatives, unless in accordance with the guidelines set out in the Marihuana Medical Access Regulation (MMAR) and Marihuana for Medical Purposes Regulation (MMPR)," said the release. "The MMAR and MMPR sets out mechanisms within which marihuana and its derivatives are legally available to patients with a prescription provided by a medical practitioner. "

The RCMP also say they are responding to complaints about the stores selling cannabis to minors as well as people without prescriptions for medical marijuana: "When I have reports of storefronts selling marihuana to youth and concerned community members approaching me about it, we are compelled to take enforcement action," Supt. Mark Fisher said in the press release.

But some neighbors are more upset about the raids. Ray Klahoz - a local business owner - told CHEK News: "I'm not too happy. They've been good guys and good neighbors. We talk to them. We've had no problems with them."

Two shops closed down following the police warning. The RCMP have not indicated when or if they will raid the other five dispensaries.

"The RCMP also say they are responding to complaints about the stores selling cannabis to minors as well as people without prescriptions for medical marijuana" ....BULLSHIT....they are acting on that threatening letter authored by "Rona Bologna" and Harpslug back in September and no doubt in response to the LP's whinging
AND having their little bit of fun flexing their anti-marijuana muscle before they can no longer do so...which brings up - where's Trudeau on this...I know, I know he's been busy but I think he needs to remember that he owes a HUGE chunk of his victory to all the people who voted for him in regards to medical marijuana and all the rest who simply voted for his promise of legalization. He needs to call off his dogs (and they are now his dogs ...or pigs as the case may be) and get him to leave the sick people in this country alone

At least the rcmp are cognizant of the fact that some people are still covered under the mmar

Thanks for the reply on which dispensaries were raided I was going to trees to " possibly " buy some marijuana when I heard the news ...wouldn't want to be there at the time of the bust , dont have a record so far ! I don't have a medical licence to smoke either though and I'm sure the cops would probably make an example out of it.
