I don't actually use any of the free stuff unless I need it, and I work and gladly pay into it with my taxes.

It's far far cheaper overall than college debt and paying ridiculous premiums in a quasi-private insurance based healthcare disaster.

Did you know "free stuff" like college and healthcare costs literally nothing to the economy and is infact a net gain?

I'm not a leftist, but it works as intended and thusly has my support.

If my healthcare costs 4x less per capita on average

education is free (more eventual taxpayers)

unemployment assistance is a phone call away (in an emergency, I've never actually claimed a cent)

and I still take home roughly 70% of my gross pay, how does that not make sense, especially to supposed "business minded" Republican retards?

And yeah, the Irish immigrants you describe moved because they were unskilled labour and had no prospects here, probably especially dumbed down by breeding with the natives for 200+ years tho.

Actually, i think most came here for a life better than what Ireland could provide them (and are still coming)..and of course famine and religious persecution. Some also hated being Britain's bitch.You probably have a family tree that looks like a pool que sequestered on that puny,insignificant, island.

You're partly correct (who would've thought I'd say this), but Harrekin is more correct; unskilled laborers who came to work on civic projects, canals, and lumber. I'm not sure about the religious prosecution, unless they were trying to get away from the Protestants - if that's what you're talking about then yes you're correct there too. About a million Irish came during the Great Famine.

It doesn't make sense to business minded Republicans because social safety nets deny them the privilege of exploiting workers.
Whether that means a fired employee starves, or has to stay on the job to keep his health insurance for his family.

All the Micks I know are tradesman, I've worked with many..good people for the most part, hard working..lot of em own their own business after 10 years of layin brick or doing concrete.

There is more money to be made in London or Chicago, They come for opportunity. One of the best guys I know is dying from some weird disease that only afflicts Irish people o_O ..it is almost like sickle cell for blacks but its only The Irish.

I'm not bullshitting man, its a real disease that only affect the Irish..dudes name is Marty Mcgarry ..great guy, ex boxer .. Worked with him for a few years, had a fund raiser for him last year.
