He's a dork but he does have good info sometimes. He does their brand vs that brand vs those brands trials. The quarry he was at is one of the sources of where build a soil gets rock dust from. I ordered basalt rock dust from the same place too. This particular ep is pretty informative. The rock guys are talking, mostly.

I just trashed a male marrionberry kush it flowered too fast and zero frost. More fiber than flower. You have to flower your males before you can breed with them just so you know if it's worth running. You can't just use any male. You have to pheno hunt for studs too.

But I have this promising male dog trap (uw purple x locktite). I didn't keep any cuts though but I will keep the pollen . And make f2's

This one took a week longer to start flowering and it's putting on some frost too

Hey hyroot, I see you are battling a mild infestation of spider mites in your breeding room!! Do you have a separate tent or room where you flower multiple males?

What I am thinking of doing next summer is to grow my males outside, that way I could really select the winners from a large gene pool, then dry and freeze the pollen, technically I can use the pollen for a very long time so no point keeping a male alive for what I am trying to do.

However, my opinion on the topic, especially for the hobby grower is to not worry too much about selecting the perfect male, if the one and only male you have doesnt really show much frost, dont hesitate to use it. Most males I use for my little indoor projects are generally grown under very weak lighting, basically just enough light to get pollen so I never expect to see much frost nor smell much terps.

I believe just about any random males from any stable genetics from reputable breeders are good to go for breeding (not for professional breeding of course...) One thing I do do, is if I have the option of several males I will chose the ones that are a bit slower at showing sex, I got that from reading old stuff subcool wrote.

Anyway, keep up the great work and thanks for sharing

John is working for a good cause and has loads of decent videos, often time too long, but some are definitely worth watching, who cares about his voice lol

Those are outside. I neglected the dog trap one. It got dried out. It's only in a 1 gal. It's not mites. It was white flies. Which is weird this time of year. Since it's so cold. They're gone now. I'm just pheno hunting for a good male. No breeding with these yet.

Yeah dj short and several other breeders say the same thing sub says. You don't want a male that flowers too fast. And doesn't produce any frost or buds.

You are going to put the males outdoor!! If some peoples grow in your neighborhood they not going to be happy with your pollen all over their grow!!!
Isn't it a problem now in states where it is legal to grow weed!??
You can have plants in your garden...take good care of...and get seeds in your sensi cause there is male in neighborhood garden...!
Is it what happens sometimes?!?
