You should learn to play the flute and dance around like the pied piper then they will follow you otherwise buy a .22 pellet gun and make a day of it shooting fuck out of them.

I took my cat off the street after feeding him for 3 mths. I deflead him twice beforehand. He has the cat virus. I need to get him injected every 2 mths.

Female cats are better hunters anyway. Jack Russell's were used for rat killing.

We had mice once, I got a rescue cat and he was useless. He only caught one mouse. The traps killed half a dozen.
Nice Kitty...and i like the cat also

poison

u bait several areas u know the rats go by/into with it they munch down leave and die

inside your house regularly spray down the floors and counter tops with some bleach water make sure to get the edges .......remove all food sources anything u have has to go in frig or tupperware removing anything they can eat in your area forces them not to look there any more once they eat the food u did have they will travel out and poison takes effect killing them

for legal reason i will say keep the poison to a low dose as it will not kill larger animals just make them really sick but anything small like that with heart beats over 100 a min it will do the job more painful yes but no chance u are responsible/ on the hook for law suit

just put a sign in your yard about poison being applied curb your pets/ small children
http://www.mysafetysign.com/pesticide-signs
or make up something yourself just tell them to keep animals away

the signs are key it protects u legally

Get the big plastic rat traps. Set about a dozen of them. You'll have to empty them out and reset them.
Alternatively you could http://fivegallonideas.com/bucket-mouse-trap/ This will work well and require the least amount of work aside from building it.
I had a python dumped off on me many moons ago. Lived way out in the sticks and the closest place to get feeder rats was an hour away in an area I had no other reason to travel to. What I did have was a huge barn on the property with a lot of hay bales in it. Hence rats and mice hanging out.It kept her fed until I found some actual decent people to look after and take her. Throw a 10lb weight in the bottom to keep it from being knocked over. Cause if you don't check on it but once a week like I did the little bastards WILL get hungry and start fighting/killing each other for food.

Oh and poison is usually a bad idea. Because when the rats/mice eat it they usually go off somewhere and die. And they STINK like no ones business. It's a big problem because if lets say they can get inside of your house and they die in a wall or something. You pretty much have one hell of a slow decomposition due to it being somewhere that carrion eating insects don't usually frequent. So you're waiting on bacteria to do the job.
It happened to my dad. He pretty much had to shut the bedroom off where the rodent was trapped and couldn't go back in there for a good month+.
Rats have a special kind of dead animal stench when they're trapped in a wall.

the bigger problem with poison is the rats wander around until they die giving dogs, cats and other animals an easy chance to eat them. then they are poisoned. i had a dog die a slow painful death from this.
here's an idea: try a rat trap...look like a mouse trap on steroids. usually kills em dead. quick n humane.

Agreed! They go off to the warmer pipes and areas of the house because their heart rate slows down and makes them cold. Disgusting stench also!

yah i know that about Poison
hence why i told him to package away all the food and clean the trails off the counters and the floors ....also why i said bait outside

i live in farm country .......more rats then a cat can handle thanks to the corn fields and how they run the area ( x-mas tree farm and they run a corn maze instead of collecting the corn they just tilt it under for next year )

the trick is to remove all the food from inside ......they eat the poison outside and look for more food and die out side ........the only major issue u can have is if a dog or something eats the dead rat hence the signs warning ppl so if they do let the dog off leash u are not on the hook for the vet bills

I don't think a cat or even a few cats could keep rats population down.. You got a real problem man..filthy creatures that spread disease..even the fleas on them can spread listeria or bubonic plague..I'd call a professional n have them eradicate that immediately. Good luck

I assure you I could have the place sanitized within 2 weeks or so.
A mixture of traps inside & out, sealing up entrances to the house would have it done quickly.
It's not really that tough - the ones that get sealed into the building get hungry and will get in the baited traps.
Exterior trapping is done to get the ones that are used to going in but were out during your initial assault.

Problem solved with no stench.

So I've got a pack rat problem that's been going on far too long. I think it's causing my dog to have an ongoing ringworm problem. I just got back from the vet, this was the third time in just a few months I've had to take Marvin in, long story short, the vet said to get a feral cat and that would take care of any rodent issues I'm having. I'm not sure if he was being serious though. There is a lot of coyotes in the area, seems like it would get eaten up for sure. Any thoughts on the matter? Should I go looking for a feral cat? Seems like I would be adding another problem to the list lol.
you should probably get your house fixed, if you dont own, and you rent call the landlord or move.
a cat doesnt solve these issues, you need to fix your property so it doesnt get infested which it already by the sounds of it is.
Hey do you know how i can start my own thread kind or do i have to pay for it?
