Hell mates.

So I' am setting up a 3x3 grow tent and gathering a parts list.
I' am now looking at lighting and want to put something good in there.

Wondering if I could fit a Gavita in there say a 750 or id go LED with something top of the line.
ANyone have experiance with a Gavita in that kind of space as well as the heat it puts off?
Have done my research just have no experiance with Gavitas.

Will be running 4 Plants Scrog in 5 gallon Smart Pots with Coco.

Would prefer to move away from HPS if I can.

This is personal and prefer quality over quantity.

Hey Trippyness.

Is this your first grow? If so, congrats on taking the leap!

I grow in the 3x3 tent also. I'm in a hot climate so heat is a major concern. For that reason I went 100% fluorescent. For veg I use an overhead fixture with four 55w 2 foot PLLs A link to the fixture is below. I load it with two Pure Par bulbs and two 10,000k bulbs, both from AgroMax. For flower I use that same fixture overhead loaded with two 3,000k bulbs and two 6,500k bulbs, again from AgroMax. During flower I also add a second lamp hanging vertically behind the plants. It's the same type as the one above, but with only two bulbs (both 3,000k). I also have two shop lamps each loaded with two 40w 2,700k CFLs placed at the front corners of the tent. It all tallies up to about 40k lumens. It's probably not the most efficient set up, but it makes managing heat much easier. And all this stuff is pretty cheap.

Here's my set-up in all it's glory.

If you have lots of money to throw at this project, or you want the absolute best grow environment with zero compromises, this set-up might not be for you. But if you're a "hobby" grower just looking to grow some decent plants on the cheap, this might work for you. It works for me. bongsmilie :peace:

Hey mate, not not my first grow at all.
I moved cross country and had to sell all my Large scale grow stuff.
I ' am now just starting a small personal grow in Coco.
Have never done Coco though.

Anyways, Im generally wanting to put a bit more power in my 3 x 3 ( thats all the space I have currently).
Will either be using a LED ( Expensive) or Gavita 750 If I can fit it and control the heat.

Nice grow btw

I think 750 in a 3x3 is a waste of light. Get a 600hps or 400-600 watts of high end/diy led and you should be able to hit 1.5-2 with some work getting that system locked in

I assumed a 750 would be as well.
Thanks for the advise. Will be pickup up one or the other.

I have either a CLW Solarstorm 400 in summer or a Spectrum King 400 in winter in my 3x3.
I have herd so much bad things about Spectrum King.
There is a hole reddit debate with the spectrum king staff. Shady guys. Lying about the gavita PAR then taking the video down..
WHat you pulling in that tent dry weight?

I run a 3'x3'x5.5' tent atm and I used to run a 400w in it. I've since upgraded to a 600w Lumatek with an air-cooled hood and cool glass. My temps never see over 80F and the usual average is around 77F. I run a ValuLine 435cfm 6" exhaust fan with passive intake and never had heat issues. Canopy control is crucial though so be sure you do some sort of training/lst/scrog if you intend to veg for more than 4 weeks. I pulled 13 zips dry with my 400w with 4 plants (2 Bubblicious and 2 Wonder Woman) under a scrog. It's all about that canopy man. You have to utilize the space you have and that all depends on how much time you spend training your girl/girls. Holla holla

i'm in a 3x3 with a 600w hps and 300w led. now that colder temps are here for me, they dont go over 79. but in summer i couldnt get it under 86 without my portable ac.

i run only in coco and its super easy and super forgiving. some hate it cuz you have to mix nutes and shit. i prefer to do that....then i know how they are being treated. maybe its the same for soil...i just dont know

I have a 3x3 and I use a 400w HID. In a tent, I like being able to need less space between the plants and the light. My temps stay 70-75ish.

MH bulb for veg and Hortilux HPS for flowering.

I don't know if it makes any perceptible difference, but I jammed a blue LED light in one side of my reflector to fill out the spectrum they receive during flower.

You need to get that led facing your plants not the reflector.

It's not going to do anything as far as yield. I just wanted to give a tad more blue light in general for the plants to use. It gets down to the plants, that's all I care about.

It's also so small that if it didn't go into the reflector it would only cover a small portion of the tent

Plants seem to like it well enough:

I have never actually weighed my grow and have only had the Spectrum King running for one cycle. It was a single Sour Deisel 2 and it filled two standard canning mason jars after drying.

I am currently vegging a Blue Donkey Dick and a Kali Mist under it. Trying to achieve perpetual grow but unfortunately have had several issues attempting this.
