50x150 is more than I would do w a tiller like that.... All day job
First, I'd get a soil sample at your agricultural college. Not sure if you can be up front about looking for cannabis soil, but a good start.I will be doing my first grow in a garden worked for 50 years with NO fertilizer added during use (basic garden plantings, tomatoes, corn, etc.). I am assuming many/most of the nutrients have been depleted over the years.
Over the next few years I will be trying an assortment of different strains (most leaning toward the sativa side). I can fine tune any nutrient needs with fertilizer with each individual grow but my question is this...
What should I add to the garden now that will prepare the soil for cannabis cultivation. I have read that manure and compost give a good "base" with which to start with as both will benefit all strains.
How many people recommend this as a good start? What else, if anything, would people recommend I add?
I am wanting to replenish the basics that have been depleted over the years, hope this makes sense.....
All input is Greatly Appreciated from this end.

FYI, first year planned on Tikal strain. Location, mid west USA (Missouri)...
I see nothing wrong with your plan on adding compost and chicken or steer manure. You can determine the amount of sand, silt, clay and compost by a simple test with a mason jar and water. Instructions easy to find on google. Sounds like a very nice orchard garden etc. spot. Enjoy!Weeds healthy, soil fairly easy to turn, full assortment of veg grown for 40 yrs lying dormant for 10 yrs, will be using all garden (50 x 150 ft), grown veg turned out well.no fert ever used.
Plan on getting soil tested and then consider adding compost and chicken manure. Garden is part of Missouri River bottomland (thousands of years ago under water, should be Very fertile land).
This is why, after nearly 6 years as a member and over 40 years experience growing all types of plant material I rarely visit the site or comment on any subject. Make a soil sandwich if you like, it still doesn't tell you any hard-data regarding the soil's condition. If $22.00 is "half your mortgage", perhaps it's time to refinance your trailer. As far as the W. Churchill quote goes, the difference is I DO understand his quote, coward or not.You quote the words of a coward, I don`t even know what you mean. He`s got a small garden in the yard, getting behind all those contractors getting sample tests, and paying half a mortgage to test the soil,.....nah,....Smell it, taste it, rub it between your hands (no not that) and if it stains your hand, good to go.
None of that Winston crap that has nothing to do with it. It`s in the ground. Like Winston.

I'm getting all misty.. Sniff sniff.Well then don`t return, Nobody here want someone to post innuendo`s at people who been doing it just as long as you, and can tell soil condition OUTSIDE,...Where it RAINS. Nothing in the ground is contained. You basically came in and said, don`t listen to these fools "so called experts" You`re the expert. And JJ`s right on, if it will grow good vegies, it`ll grow good pot.
So go ahead and hate on people that shoot back at ya. Go away, I wont miss ya.......................
