HELP! What do I get my man for Christmas?

we haven't ever exchanged gifts with each other (always just bought for our children) and now, this year we decided to. I know he's getting me something nice, probably the heart rate monitor that I've been eyeballing.

I am at a loss. It was his B day earlier this month and I got him some needed wardrobe items. So clothing is out.

All I can think of are practical things like some new running shoes (about as bad as giving a tie). He's got lots of nice knives already...he's not a coffee drinker and just bought some really nice whiskey.

Buy a goat in Africa in his honor? I got nothing.

has one. SEE??? I'm telling you it's hopeless. Time's running out. I was looking at solar powered phone chargers (he fishes a lot but has tons of gear etc for that) but you have to take your phone out of the case it's in to charge it. No one wants to do that with cold fingers while ice fishing.

Clothing for him might be out, but clothing for you to wear while enjoying each other's company could be a thoughtful way to say all the right things.

Besides, you're the one with the Betty Page avatar... I'm betting you know exactly what accessories will have the proper response.

What about tools? See, I think he's particular, but doesn't want to tell me that...He says it's not important to gift him anything, he's happy blah blah, but I would still like to do something. He's made so many sacrifices for me and our family (why we never exchanged gifts to each other very much). He's so low maintenance I'm lucky EXCEPT at Christmastime.

Can you guys think of anything sort of frivolous that you would like but would never buy for yourselves?

*i'm sounding flakier the more I post here LOL

If he likes tools get him a snap on ratchet. They are not cheap by now means, lifetime guarantee. And snap on is the best of the best. All I work with.

$200 for a 1/2in ratchet.

I'm ase certified and only rock snap on. Fuck cheap tools. My scanner with all the keys from snap on was $3000.

pretty sure craftsman is better.

A really nice 29-piece cobalt drill bit set.
A bottle of superior liquor.
A Fuente"Hemingway" cigar assortment ...
... a set of .45-70 reloading dies

So he is a total carnivore and is really into curing his own meat/sausage making. I have been looking at sausage of the month clubs (yes I know) but they look really good. reading customer reviews now.

@bu$hleaguer was talking about cheese making in another thread a couple weeks ago. Bushy do you recommend any specific starter kit?

When it comes to Craftsman, Snap-On, and Mac, I usually choose Craftsman. Decent price, awesome warranty, and any Sears will immediately replace your failed tool. If I made my living with tools, home/office delivery might be worth the extra price.
