That lamp looks like it's the size of a shoe box.

Besides components that are unknown and questionable 800w in a rig that size is a design failure if it's to be used for gardening.

COB means Chip on Board. So there a lot of cheap chinese COBs on market! And what COB should that be? Single COB with 200W? Underdriven or Fullblast? Why you think, you can get a efficient lamp for 150$ with 800W? If so, Manufacturer like Cree or Bridgelux are bankrupt!! Why is Cree leading LED manufacturer? Because he is expensive and is not much better than Epistar or other cheap Manufacturer? That is crap. Think about, and then buy your lamp. You will get what you paid for!!

Well that beats the 50w/sq ft rule of thumb, why would one mind?
As has been stated numerous times: you can beat the 50w/sq ft rule with incandescent lights too. People don't do it because it's inefficient. That's why we keep saying a grower can have the same amount of usable light (and less heat) with fewer watts and the same up-front cost using T5HO or CMH.

I have no idea why you continue to obscure those objective facts. I'm sorry your light means that much to you. Others need to realize you're not being objective.

I only have 18w sq/ft of cxb 3590 and it works just fine...
Try it with cheap LEDs!!!
It is easy to build a small cob panel for cheap with Vero and CPU cooler!

Given that light only has 4 COBs... that would mean each one is runnin at 200 watts each... I am out of the loop on the newest technology right now, but I find it hard to believe that 4 cobs are putting out 800 watts for that price. That unit would completely Crush anything else on the market given the price and stated specifications.

I am running 28 watt sq ft with some Vero 29s seems to be working great.

Th other light that seller has is rated at 600 watts. I actually own one and can tell you t draws 178watts.
I bet that cob light actual draw is around 250watts
