Strain??

Hi

I'm growing midgrade bagseed under a 400 watt hps in my closet.

The plants are about 5.5 weeks old, 1.5 weeks into 12/12.

This plant is about three feet tall.

From what I can gather it is a sativa, but why is it so sparse and bushy at the same time? Any ideas about strain?

thanks.

Sparse and bushy......??

Sparse to me means leggy to me, and thats definently a sativa trademarks, not very bushy at all, just alot of height, and more woody than leafy.

She'll begin to fill in and get alot bushier as she matures and some bit taller, hope you have room for a 6-7ft girl :D I'd say 7-9weeks on 12/12.

Any ideas on sex btw?

it does look like a typical sativa... the most probable reason why it is not bushier is because you need to get the light closer.. your branching has very distant nodes because the plant is expending most of it's energy to grow long, to reach the light... when the light is closer the plant does not feel like it has to stretch up as much and will concentrate on growing foliage

p.s. flower it soon if you have not yet.. it could grow another foot during flow... unless you have the room for it

thanks...she grew like a foot in the past week when I started 12/12 and there are the little pear shaped nodes but I can't tell yet if male or female...my one indica turned out to be male..this is my first try and learning how much there is to learn so far...lol.

moving the light closer will definitely help. Just be sure that it is not too close. You can tell by putting your hand under the light at the top of your plant, if the light is two hot for your hand then it is too hot for the plant. i would definitely start flowering soon man. That thing is going to get pretty big during flowering. You should be able to make out hte sex now. Look for those little hairs comming out right at the intersection of the stalk and a limb. If they are little ball looking things, then it is a male. If they look like hairs , then it is time too flower.
